Clearly all these players suck, so my money is on the Barbs to win.

Thoughts on the snake pick?
Seems to me Scooter came off very well, with the only Industrious civ, Expansive and the Incan's faux creative UB.
Depending on the difficulty level and world wrap, either Dazed or Serdoa will come off worst.
Organised HRE courthouses vs Exp/Imp Indian Fast workers REXing.
So care to put us out of our speculative misery Krill?

Basically, expect early bloodshed, REX, naval wars, and a combination of an archipelago and Terra type map.
I'm building the entire map by hand, so that is why it's going to take a while before it is finished.
And it won;t be toroidal, which is a good thing AFAICT.

Sounds like it should be a fun game!
RE: Toroidal, I kind of like maps like that, though on smaller maps it's not as hot. It was perfect for RBPB2 but I guess for something like this it'll better to not be. Just my 2 cents.
Played in:
RBPB2 - Willem of Ottoman - 6th/10
RBPB3 - Joao of Inca 13th/17 or so???
PBEM6 - Shaka of the Vikings 2nd/5 (thanks Lewwyn)

I haven't looked at Scooter's thread yet but my bet is he lands an early religon and oracles to metal casting. Now to see if he's let the plan out yet!

Heh heh, looks like my (stolen from Scooter in PBEM3) elimination of FIN and PHI leaders idea was fairly popular
I share most of the other player's apparent mystification at what exactly TT is thinking. I guess he wants really large cities, but he's going to be weak militarily and an awfully attractive target. I'm also not convinced that a higher happiness cap justifies both a trait and a UB (which I assume was his goal), when there are more compelling economic advantages to angle for.

TT's choice was a fantastic one as far as original combos go. He already knew from the planning thread that the map will be food rich. That means he should be able to benefit from the synergy between his choices by having larger cities than the rest early on. I'm not an expert or anything, but it sounds like a good idea on paper especially with fin/phi banned.
Krill's map description was a bit conflicting. I'd imagine archipelago maps usually favor the defender (= good for TT), but looks like Krill has some unique twists in it since he predicts there'll be early bloodshed. We'll see how that works out.

I thought about the map for 20 minutes, and ultimately decided that because it was a 5 player map, I'd have to do something slightly weird. Basically, I'm doing a (fairly large) variation on the RBPB2 map, using a different map script. And the players will have no choice but to expand off the ring. Ironically, it may turn out that TT picked the best civ, because there aren't going to be any happy resources that are easily grabbed. I decided that before civs were picked, and I'm not changing that after knowing what civs and leaders were picked because that is,'t fair on TT. He gambled on a low happy cap,and it turns out it paid off for him.

Sounds to me like Scooter also has a good civ for the map (Industrious helping to get the Great Lighthouse, which by the sound of the map should be very powerful in this game).
