... because the game is built for low levels of stress but it moves really fast? Something like that.

Egypt, France, Byzantium, Spain. Every player went for a 2-move UU. Here's hoping for bloodshed.

If scooter doesn't control this game I'm calling him out as a b00b.

Agri>BW>Pottery.

Need those farms first, and slavery will work fine because you can stack the unhappiness in one city and split the food off to those new cities that you triple whipped settlers for, whilst slow building the granary. Even have the happiness to overcome the whip stacking.

Why would anyone pick a civ that doesn't start with Agriculture!?

luddite Wrote:yeah... I gotta say I'm really not liking this map so far. It would be awesome for a duel map, or for a game where everyone wanted to focus on early warfare, but it's just making me feel frustrated.
Sigh.

That's why I usually ask what people want from a map. Setup thread shown no indications that I should make early warfare difficult, noone voiced preferences for a buildfest or large swathes of land.

And now luddite is unhappy because I did not read his mind and did not have player picks to divine their intentions from rolleye

Maps can't fill all expectations especially when you don't even know them wink. Even if you would get very detailed instructions most of the players won't realize what they mean before they actually start playing.

The silliest parts:

1) You said before the picks were even made that it's a cramped map.
2) His idea of what the map is like is wrong.

Just don't worry about it. He's in no position to pass judgment.
