I suspect there is a real lack of respect here for how high maintenance will be on a prince/toroid. Tech pace pre-CoL will be kind of slow for everyone not Mackoti (pre-Priesthood for him). Beyond that, though, with almost everyone sporting an easy way to generate some research (cheap libraries or Caste scientists/merchants), it ought to be okay. Shoot the Moon in particular with Catherine will probably be in the 0% slider territory a long time, which to be fair actually makes Mali's marginal mint a little bit better. I'm not sure if anyone is actually screaming originality to me, though...although perhaps Kyan will try to pair Louis with Portugal, making the otherwise risky Colossus reliance a great deal better. Worth it? Maybe not, but it's a fair enough try.

Bet you a lot of money he outlasts Nakor.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
Gaspar Wrote:Bet you a lot of money he outlasts Nakor. Sucker's bet, Nakor needs a someone with fire in the gut teamed with him to do well, he's a decent builder, but not much fond of warring. Also, poor guy is stuck with Kyan and Mack.

He actually asked me to team with him here, and I suppose I qualify for having fire, but I declined for two reasons. 1. I had already checked out the map thread and 2. I've done all the losing to Kyan and mackoti one man needs to do in a lifetime.

Nakor Wrote:If I can choose, that would be the one with MM and Sian. But one of them and Kyan would be ok as well. Avoiding Mackoti for a long time would be nice. Then again, maybe the only way to beat him is an early axe rush.... Sorry man.
