Well, I mentioned it in the off topic football thread, but who is interested in fantasy premier league football next season, I would suggest we use the official one which is quite good and has the benefit of being free

I prefer "proper" football to NFL football, but I have to confess I've never understood fantasy EPL. Or rather, I've never understood a way to make it seem interesting. I signed up for the league TT ran (last year maybe?) but I sort of checked out quickly based on nothing to get me excited about it.
Can you sell me on it?
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

You don't have the 'head to head' style games the American football seems to have, but it is interesting, and to stay in your budget you have to look for value and try and determine who is value for money.
You can't just take the big name players like van Persia and then stuff the side with small values to make budget as you will lose, so you need to review the team and see that team A plays with a single striker who is getting on a bit hence may be injury prone, hence taking the number 2 striker on the cheap may pay off down the line.
Also you have various subs you can play depending on the match up, so when looking at which 2 of your 3 strikers to play a given week, maybe you play the guy facing Cardiff rather than van Persia against man city.

Well, there's no chance of me taking Van Persie, the stupid Judas c*nt.
Nonetheless, I'll play if there's interest, even if I think the game needs a bit more pizazz.

Seems awfully tedious unless you watch the games every week to me.

Not really tedious, take 5 mins a week to check the fixtures and see who is playing a bottom team

If this gets going and you needed a spot filled I could take a spot and completely bomb since I know nothing about the EPL

I think what I actually like the least about this version of Fantasy Football is that there's no draft. Having players be unique to teams is a lot more fun and interesting than just trying to squeeze under a salary cap, IMO. Its why I never get into playoff pick'ems and stuff like that.

Ah, this is the ffl thread I've been looking for.
In spite of the fact that I hate the rules of the official game (bonus points for playing well? Make your most expensive player your captain? One transfer a week? Player values fluctuating to favour better managers? Only getting half of the increase in value when you sell a player?) I haven't found a better one, so I'll enter a team anyway...
Am I being too keen?
I'd like to try a draft-version - could we do it with the official game engine?
Completed: RB Demogame - Gillette, PBEM46, Pitboss 13, Pitboss 18, Pitboss 30, Pitboss 31, Pitboss 38, Pitboss 42, Pitboss 46, Pitboss 52 (Pindicator's game), Pitboss 57

If people wanted to we could manually add a draft system on top of the standard rules, would take a bit more planning as it would not be done for us, it should be doable
