Fellow RB boardgamer, the free world and Mother Russia need your expertise!
I signed up to a tournament, apparently sponsored by GMT with actual prizes, that is currently being organized at Qt3, one of internet's many gaming websites/communities ( link). If you are interested in the game, but not to the extent that you would sign-up yourself -- I gladly invite you to join this team effort to get Brian Reynolds to nuke himself to death. He was the first sign-up on Qt3. If you happen to be participating in that tournament yourself, please don't read on.
I already clarified that playing as a team off a single-account is fine, as is consulting any external resources to inform your play. So far I have one wingman, but I would really prefer to have as many people as possible on board, as I don't want to drop out or miss a match due to scheduling conflicts.
Onward to victory!

I will happily lurk, but lack sufficient knowledge of the game to be of much help.

Have the boardgame but not the Steam version.
I'll try to dip into any thread you run and offer opinions.

Tournament is due to start late next week, and we might have as many as three participants from RB -- rho signed up to take part himself, and gavagai is thinking about doing the same. It's single round elimination, so hopefully at least one of us lasts longish.

The pairings are up, our first opponent is Grunden. Rules are Optional cards, 2 influence to US, 7 days per side. Under these rules, I really hope we get US lots

So, for reasons of competitiveness, reporting in the course of the game is probably not the best idea, but here is the discord chat I created for the purposes of discussion, do jump in guys: https://discord.gg/vyUvy

First round is in the bag:
This was a weird, weird game. Opponent started by leaving Italy open as US...

I have the boardgame and I am pretty good at it but do not have the electronic version so I'm on board.
