I need suggestions for good filler--how about a picture of the map (since one of my pet peeves about Wargroove is that there's no way to see the full view of a map in-game without starting a match):

As you can see, this is an interesting map, with each HQ isolated and no one starting with production buildings. P1 also seems at a big disadvantage since they can't capture the Barracks on T1 (though I guess it's like they get a T0 where they capture the buildings first--TBH I don't like this map much, but it should be interesting).
Which commanders do we want to be? Assuming Grooves affect other teammates, Mercia, Emeric, and Caesar all seem like good choices, though we've seen a lot of them (and probably will see more with the Naru nerf--most of the others don't seem as good, though in terms of "commanders that haven't been shown off on RB yet" Sigrid/Elodie is probably good, Ryota has a high skill cap with the buff, Sedge might be good with all the units, and I didn't really get to show off Ragna). Any thoughts?

Here's the map we're playing:
So overall, income will be low on this map. From a quick count, income will be 700-800 per person. I also expect the fighting around the 4 towns in the middle will be the busiest. These two factors make me think Emeric would be a good choice. His gem is fairly difficult to kill with cheap units, and it would cover those 4 towns completely. When his groove comes online, we could drop it up there and push that area, and I'm not sure what all they could do about it.
Some other leaders to consider:
* Valder is usually not very exciting to me, but in a world where I think cheaper units will be big, his groove could actually be somewhat useful? (For those unaware - it allows you to summon an immediately active soldier.)
* Ryota is pretty interesting, and he hasn't been played in one of these games. He seems very high upside, but maybe difficult to get full value from.
* Sedge is similar. In theory I like it, but I wonder if it would be too easy to play around him.
* Sigrid I think could be very interesting. Good way to punish stronger units, which could be especially devastating given the low income map.
Any thoughts?

It'll be left vs right.

Low income definitely dissuades me from commanders that are agnostic to unit strength (Sigrid and the two unlockables). Valder and Emeric make sense, but I'm wondering if this might not be Greenfinger's time to shine to try and block off the middle. The only question is when he'd come online--before the units get there?
More importantly, what's the plan? Should one of us Wagon-rush there (which seems very slow since you can't Wagon on T1), or just focus on getting the Barracks first? Who should be towards the top and who towards the bottom?

I think Greenfinger has a slow charge speed relative to the average

Yeah I thought about Greenfinger, I guess I'm not sure. It definitely might work. I wonder if the center area may be best controlled by getting a treb or two that are protected by the river firing into it. Overall I'm not sure whether or not an early wagon makes sense, could kinda go either way on that.
We probably need to make a decision here. I'm good with any combo of Emeric, Valder, or Greenfinger since those are the 3 we're looking at. I'm pretty sold on Emeric, so I'll let you decide which of the other two you'd rather us have. Also, got a preference on which you'd like to play?

Sounds great, locked in Emeric, and we're off. They chose Ryota and Sigrid FYI.
