Twenty-two - One Track Mind
|

Map Generation:
Random (unedited)
Scenario: Ever been said to have a one track mind? Ignore the rest of the world while you focus on just one thing? Well, in the future of 2300, all of humanity is like this. At least, their scientists are. They doggedly pursue whatever it is that they are researching until either they understand it or pass away. On the off chance that they do switch to some different topic, they have a bad habit of "reusing" old or unfinished documents for the new idea - thus losing small parts of the old topic in a mad flurry to track down this new discovery! Variant: Most modern games only allow you to research only one thing at a time. Let's see how that fairs in MOO, especially since it penalizes you for dropping research. At all times, you can only have one of the six branches open, say Propulsion. All others can't have any ticks in them at all. When you want to switch over to another tech, everything must go to it! To reiterate: 100% of your research points must be going into one and only one of the six fields at any given time. When switching to a different field, all of the funding must be transferred over to the new field. Scoring: Similar to how MOO itself scores tech, add up your total tech ratings at the end of the game and divide by 6 (rounded to the nearest whole number). If ties occur, whoever has the highest in an individual tech will be placed higher in the rankings. Please keep your saved game file in case disputes or misunderstandings arise. Closing day - Monday, September 7, 2009. Results due by Sept 8, your local time. Read
