Something's wrong, I did download and play the 2 previous Imperia, but this one doesn't show up on the load screen, only the last save is available and it's Ursa, not Kholdan.
Any specific version of Moo and DosBox to use?

This one was Save 4 instead of Save 6. Are you sure you loaded the right game?

1. Start Orion, create a new game (doesn't matter what settings you use). When the map is created, save the game in slot 4, naming it whatever you want. Then quit.
2. Unzip the Imperium 15 save file into your Orion directory.
3. Start Orion again and load the game in slot 4 (it'll still have whatever name you gave it). This should be the Imperium 15 save (you can check against the "teaser images" provided on its main page).
Alternatively, unzip the save into another directory, rename it "save6.gam" (from "sav4.gam") and move it to your Orion directory, overwriting the existing save6.gam and you should be able to load it from the last save slot when you open Orion.
Master of Orion can not load a game until you've created a save in that "slot" (1-6) by saving from a game in progress; once you've created a path to the relevant slot (by saving a game in it) you can swap in any save with the right name (save[slot#].gam) in slots 1-6 (7 is the autosave) as long as there is always a file with that name in the Orion directory. I've found the game tends to glitch when I swap while the game is running however, so I always exit out first just to be sure. I hope this solves the problem!

Game played; report written!

Thanks for the help, I managed to make it work, it needed save slot 4 already initialized.
So, game played, first ever report written.
On another subject, I'm still unable to win a solo game on Impossible.
Either I get destroyed in the beginning, where I spread out too far and get taken for most of my worlds (abandoning hope and quitting), or I spread out fine enough, and then fall into a researching pattern that leaves me inert... And then I get destroyed either politically or by obscene armadas...
I was wondering if there was a chance for a serial game over on Civfanatics or right here, where some of the experienced players could direct me and other hopefuls into our first impossible win...
Any interest?

Sounds like you should start a succession game to me.

Write up a detailed report of one of your Impossible games, and post it here. Include what you're researching, what you're building, ship designs, etc. I'm sure there will be more than enough veterans here willing to pick it apa.. er... give you some constructive criticism
Or, start an SG as Sullla suggested. Though I'm going to be in Germany for 3 weeks starting end of next week, so I won't be participating.

Nods, we had something like this, Meklar Impossible Challenge. A succession game or a start save of a game you already played sounds like a good idea.

Hi again, I just finished an Impossible game with Psilons, I had a very easy start, and I won very easily, I wrote a somewhat detailed report and took some screen shots, which I'll post in a new thread here later on, right now, I'm late for lunch.
I'd appreciate your comments, especially constructive criticism, I know I made some mistakes that could have killed me in a harder situation, and I know I only won this because the map was unbelievable. I also failed to pay attention to a couple of things (diplomacy maybe, alien homeworlds, etc...) and I'd love it if you could pick my post apart.
Thanks in advance, I'll post my report as soon as I can.
Here is the thread with the game I played:
