Now for the turn report:

Down in the south by Essen there was a lonely spearman standing 1NE of the city. I moved it back into Essen to provide cover against vanrober's horse archers as the city lacked any spearmen. Another spearman hopefully can be whipped next turn.

Up north there where 4 axeman standing on the marked tile, one of them your anti-melee-anti-siege general. I think you wanted to move them to Hamburg, but I moved all of them back into Berlin. There you now have 12 units facing 13 units that can actually kill. Together with the hill bonus it should be possible to survive for one round and in the process kill a lot of catapults on the defense. I think moving them out of the city was a mistake as by moving them out you (maybe) lost the fortification bonus. Yes the capital is bombarded to 0%. But better keep the capitol alive as long as possible. That way Hamburg has enough time to whip up a defense. Berlin is also producing a spearman to provide defense against the few Roman chariots.
Hamburg was whipped for an axeman and will most likely whip every turn from now on no matter the cost.

Berlin has fallen. Would have hoped for a bit more dead catapults, but alas nothing one can do about. I expect Amicalola to heal his stack for at least 1 round and then move onward to Hamburg. That should give you 2 more turns. I drywhipped an axeman there and then switched to an archer. 24 hammers will go into the archer this turn, so that it can be whipped the next turn. That way hopefully you get an additional archer and axeman before the attack comes.

Down south Essen will most likely fall this turn, albeit to heavy casualties on vanrober's side due to the defenses and spearman present.

Thanks for playing, I am back. The end is not far off. I had moved the axemen out of the city in case the Romans went for Hamburg.

I think in that situation I would have given up Hamburg and kept any fortification bonus. But it's not that important anyway
