I mean, they'd need a horde of builders they had just sitting there, not doing anything, which seems unlikely given how builders work now. But they might be able to eat a few resources with whatever builders they have on hand, sure.

Sure! The AI will be programmed to only harvest resources it desperately needs, and if the human player does it, who cares, because that just makes it easier to take the land back from the AI later.

Multi-whatter? lol

"Harvest everything" sounds like an inevitable and pretty cool variant. Kind of like playing a Civ-version of the Cravers from Endless Space.

What I'm seeing from the livestreams today is at the very least, Civ 6 will have a ton of life coming up with SP variants to compete in. Still don't know much about MP though.

I watched Marbozir's video about the tech tree, and I'm amazed by how much production everything costs after a while. 540 production for a single atomic-era military unit? Is the resource curve that dramatically different?

Bunch of big Civ6 streams are live:

I've watched Quill's stream since the beginning. A few things struck out so far.

I really like Sean Bean's voice acting.
I hope the diplo balance isn't final. Frederick asked for a declaration of friendship a billion times which is just annoying spam. Then when Quill declared war on him (not a surprise war, a formal one) half the other civs declared on Quill and the other half denounced him, all for being too much of a warmonger. It sounds like the warmonger penalty for declaring war is too high.
It felt like Quill had a thousand options at most times and had to make hard choices. Production seemed low. So pursuing different strategies will really feel different.

Well they did say that they wanted to nerf player going to war, so warmonger penalty scales and becomes more and more severe with each era (presumably because the later in the game it is, the better will player's position be compared to AIs?). Formal declaration of war only halves (I think) the penalty, and I definitely saw warmonger penalty modifier of -24 in one of the videos, so... even if you go to a formal war, -12 is a big hit

Myself, I said it before and will say it again, I think warmonger penalty is the most stupid mechanic ever introduced to a Civ game. "You declared war on our friend" in Civ4 was the right way to do it (Civ4 did so many things right....)

Maybe you can only do it if you haven't improved the tile yet?
