I see the grid lines are helpful.

Wolf got 3 hits in. Less than 9% chance. Grumble grumble.
I want to make one more scout move before healing up. (Healing will take 4 turns. Grumble grumble.)
As expected, Bing improved his pigs and is now working them.

I am an idiot.
I moved away from the lion right into the maw of a bear. 75% chance the scout dies. We're so vulnerable because of those unlucky wolf bites earlier. Gah, that's frustrating.
Warrior completed. I moved him 1E of the capital. No real reason behind it. Borders expand in like 7 turns. We put our overflow into a worker.
Bing got a pop growth.
I'm still mad about the bear.

Two turns, not just in one day, but in one morning!
Look how elegant the Rusten plan is:
We just finished our deer camp, and we hit exactly the correct amount of food for a pop growth.
The bear ate the scout. I'm moving the warrior down to fog bust around our presumptive second city.
Bing is at size two and has completed a warrior (and Mining). Somebody out there has grown to size 3.

NGL, losing that scout is really unfortunate.
Can't scout our vicinity nor see units coming. Bleh!
At least the quick turnpace helps us forget and eases the pain.

Yeah. There's no way to sugar coat it. That loss is going to have bad ripple effects.
The silver lining is that if we do get chariot rushed from an un-scouted angle, I'll have more time to theory craft my Exsanguinate totems phys-to-fire coversion Scion in Path of Exile.

Scourge league looks soooooo good! I've not played that much the last few leagues, but I'm excited about all the changes and the league mechanic.

Eeek! Another bear!
If he moves forward, I move back. It's not worth rolling on a 27% chance to lose the warrior. In Close to Home, barbs don't attack warriors escorted by settlers, so we don't need to take this battle.
The pace has been too fast for me to do much useful demos reading, although I've got the screenshots if we want to sift through them. Bing is at size two and working his pigs and a 1/2/1 tile. I had originally wondered if Bing was going for an immediate settler, using the Imp bonus to get value out of a 1f/2h tile, but it could be that he's building a second worker with a 3foodhamer tile that has his highest commerce. I still lean towards the settler theory.
Because I am a paranoiac, I did some math on a possible Bing chariot rush. Making some assumptions (horse being 4-6tiles away, settling on horse, spending these turns pre-roading to the city site, whipping the chariot the turn after city foundation), I think he can complete a chariot in ten turns (t33-ish). The takeaway: if Bing wants to rush us, we can't do anything about it. The things we would have to do, such as teching Archery immediately after Bronze Working, are unacceptable. If I see a 4k power spike that lines up with a chariot timing, I'll let you know.
I preemptively agree that such a hard core chariot rush would be unlikely (although given the richness of the capitals compared to the surrounding land, it's an ok idea). And Bing still hasn't put EP into us. All the same, I watch and wait.

The bear has escaped for the time being.
Next turn, BW comes in and we also get a border pop. All I can say is that I hope Copper is to our West, otherwise I'll be regretting that scout loss even more.
Wheel is a 7 turn tech. Animal Husbandry is 8. I assume we want Wheel next.
I haven't planned too much further out because I haven't figured out where city number 2 goes. The plains hill that grabs cow, fish, and corn will undoubtedly piss Bing off, but it's a good spot. If we settle there, the worker currently 1E of the capital should next move to chop the plains spices so that he can move to chop the grass spices next in order to get a work boat out of city #2.
My current plan is to complete the settler, finish the worker to avoid hammer decay, and then revolt to slavery. The second city won't be founded yet, so we lose nothing there and if we revolt earlier, the next set of chops go into the warrior and complete it with way too many hammers.
