Is your intention that in case of a war, we migrate en masse to your enemy's thread, and spam it with messages: "Please don't kill me, I am only following orders"? If so, this is a very cunning plan, and I applaud you, good sir.

Though the alternative of having a high priest wandering around being called Bishop Timothy Archer is very cool too (is there a Transmigrated promotion available, I wonder?).

I'm going to hold off posting until you have some higher level units. Ah...shoot lol.

Cool, he'd be accompanied by Palmer Eldritch with Stigmata.

Still, doesn't beat Sullla, Beast of Agares smile

I hear knocking at the door.

I expect those two workers on the right to plop a road this turn and a stack representing a significant portion of Bob's power graph to come in.

His soldier count is some 80k. About 20k of which can be attributed to pop, techs and garrison troops. That leaves 60k. Now, his soldier count rose in the last four turns by 4, 6, 6 and 7k points respectively. This doesn't look like training moroi from scratch (8k increase) or upgrading warriors to moroi (5k), it seems more like a constant spam of warriors with an occasional 1k due to growing pop.

So at worst I might expect 20 warriors with bronze coming after Feiss Mabdon. Although I'm not sure if Bob would want to waste his upkeep for that many warriors, so I guess the stack is rather a mix of warriors and moroi.

I have an 1 adventurer and 3 warriors and in the city. In two turns two more will arrive, and a few more if I throw an early Warcry. Production in all cities has been set to warriors. I'll need to look the stack to see if the city has a chance to defend itself.

If this is war, then let the screenshots flow, so that fine sagas of your warriors' valor can be written afterwards!

On a practical note: how big of a force would cause you worry right now? One of your earlier screenshots showed your two named warriors as Combat 2, Shock 1, which seems like a solid start. Do your reinforcements have any promotions on them?

There's one combat 1 warrior on the way, the rest is unpromoted. The new apprenticeship warriors are still in training.

If the stack is 15 warriors or more I'll seriously consider abandoning the city or bargaining it for peace.

OK, where's the stack huh

I was damn sure it would double-move from a tile E or SE of the workers and land two tiles E of my city. After all that was the purpose of building that road, wasn't it? There are a few explanations, but I'm not satisfied with any of them:

1. There really is a barbarian city that Bob's stack is after. Building that road has no relevance or is an attempt to goad me into switching to turtle mode. If that's the case it is working perfectly thumbsup

2. Bob's smoke I'm positive he hasn't got Construction and didn't research it this turn either (Construction is a Classical so I'd have observed a +22 score increase). In this case I'll have time to move a few level 2 warriors into the city.

3. The stack is so powerful that it doesn't matter if it attacks one or two turns later.

4. A "black swan" scenario such as the Priests of Winter appearing on the scene, or Bob's stack coming from the jungle in the north.

Either way I keep training more warriors and trying to get Archery ASAP.

I would assume that your reasoning is solid and that he as no interest in an even fight between places #3 and #4. But getting a bit of military can not be a bad idea.

Thanks for playing such a nice game after I pretty much did everything wrong at the start.:D
