In English I think it'd be called an associates Finance degree. Only takes 2 years, qualifies me to work in a bank or similar finance institution. I'm 32 and haven't managed to complete an education yet, so the short duration is appealing. Not to mention, I got married 3 years ago and discovered that women cost 3.5x as much in upkeep as men do.

While we're waiting... how exactly do the cultural mechanics translate to reality? Art, stories, and great buildings help people identify themselves with a common history. So having more stories attracts people from farther away? Inspires people to migrate farther away?
Also: cultural battles. Land ownership is determined by the predominant ethnicity and not by politics?
Or does 'culture' include political influence?

Ah, one of those things that makes less sense the more you think about it. But then it's a game - it's supposed to be abstract and simplified.
But I think the cultural battle primarily is about identity: does one think about oneself as a A or as B? It's not only about ethnicity, but about language, religion, and identity (individual and collectively). All abstracted away to two numbers.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

I would agree. And, of course, real-life political borders aren't culturally dependent the way civ's are - there is no way, for instance, that Alaska is all American because of culture. And the Balkan's would definitely all be Greek now, with the culture from all those wonders.

The Balkans were pretty Greek during say, 550 AD. You forget that wonders like the Parthenon were destroyed.

Maybe the culture buildings also represent that the Civilization has the power and resources to build Monuments and Wonders, and can bring more land into its influence. Then how does Creative work...?

good point, NH. Course, I don't know how the balkans got out from under greek civ in that case.
Creative would just work by people creating oral culture, without the aid of libraries. i guess.

What do we do if no one steps in for Catwalk? It doesn't look like anyone wants to. Well except for Commodore, but he's the mapmaker.
