And just to get it posted, here's the diplo I got from Tas. Certainly a confusing one with him listing cities by Commodore along with ones by Gavagai:

To try to add some clarity, not that it helps much, I added screenshots of the two cities he has on his side. One is clearly right up against Gavagai. The other....no clue what that's supposed to mean.
On my side, the city of McDs clearly suggests that he might be offering to help against Gavagai for a price (the listing of the Gold resource). But Burning Spears, Hungry, & Happy add the confusing part.
This is truly a confusing diplo message. Hungry is my border with Commodore. Happy is kind of in the middle of my empire (though on the coast) and doesn't border anyone. Burning Spears is near him.

So just for you lurkers, we've just had a long chat after doing a few SIMs of us trying to attack that stack after taking Five Guys....and it's looking like it would still hurt us too badly by trying to do so. In more than one SIM we lost upwards of 50 units while he still only lost about 25. So the current plan is looking like we take FG, and move the stack into it. But what this does mean is we need to do some SIMs of us moving the stack into the city to see what would happen if Gavagai then tried to attack it. So once Commodore plays, I'll log in to do all the regular maintenance stuff and use my HAs to take Five Guys. But then need to wait until morning to decide what we do with the SOD.
Turn isn't set to roll until about noon tomorrow, so hopefully if we need to put in a pause for Gavagai it won't be for too long. But all that can wait until morning.

I'll eat five guys any day. Though lately my health poison of choice has been Culver's, since it's near where I'm working at the moment. Mmmmm pork tenderloin sandwiches and cheese curds.

It's OK in the UK. Not amazing, bit expensive for the meals but the saver menu is fine. Tastes fine at least. I threw up when I tried a McD in the US.
