Doesn't look like Commodore is going to be in time. Nauf can just settle on forest it looks like even if Commodore's settler comes in. The diplo by Commodore and reading by Nauf btw are beautiful to see.
All that being said:

Plus, I have my own reputation to think about. I've crippled two players in the ancient era in my last two games.
I really wanted to say this in his thread by decided against.

Nauf did the smart correct thing by not contesting? IMPOSSIBLE!
That being said the spot he is going to settle on the sugar is garbage. Go NW to the clam spice on the grassland hill. I can either be a border city or transition to the fish / rice city. / at least make any city there awkward (which it will be).

Superdeath offered me a deal: I fight Ginger, he fights Commodore. But now I scouted his land and... where is Commodore? He has see on all sides except south where he has me. He cannot reasonably go to war with Commodore. As a matter of fact, he cannot go to war with anyone, except yours truly. Which, surely, makes it very convenient for him that I am now engaged in a war with Ginger at his suggestion.
I'll be frank, I did not expect someone to just straight-up lie in a diplo offer as that would make his diplo offers worthless not only in this game but in all future games of which SD in particular plays quite a lot. But SD did this thing anyway and this will have consequences, both on this game and on meta-level.
On meta-level SD is now a known lier and cheat for me and I encourage others to treat him the same. His word means nothing.
Heh Gav figured out the lie. To be fair, it was a pretty easy lie to figure out.
And yes, SD is a known diplo lier already lol. I pretty much trust him just as far as I can see what he is doing.
Anyways,

I can say I'm an SD fan, but I won't say it's because he's a hero.
On that note it's great for Comm and the others, SD vs Gav with a side of Ginger is going to be major help in playing catchup.

I cannot believe it. I thought there were none among the ranks of all Earthly life-forms. I am now strongly tempted to break my blood-oath to honor the Lurker Code of Conduct so I can abuse my spoiler knowledge to tell superdeath that his best strategic move would be to fund his economy by selling custom fan-club T-Shirts.
...
More seriously it looks like the Ginger/Gavagai/superdeath trio will drag each other down in warfare, leaving the Amicalola/naufragar/Commodore trio to peacefully stroll ahead. The question is, is naufragar's basic economic/demographic position actually as bad as he thinks, or is he just having a hard time adjusting to the feeling and pace of an early game on a natural map without his beloved IMP ?

Reading this game makes me want to play pitboss again

WOW all the action. Love it. Love it all.
Love Ginger missreading the situation thinking SD was coming to help when in reality SD knew Gav was coming for him.
Love Nauf and Amica fighting (btw like Naufs x spot, if only he hadn't been flittering away time elsewhere he could have gotten because Amica was also off doing weird things like founding Regret ).
Love Commodore's plan for early bulb. Hate Commodore refusing to settle first ring food. Like seriously he might squeeze in 1 more city, but all of them are just going to be SOOOO slow.
Edit: also there is a quest race! Sadly Ginger probably wins easily.

Just as a counter argument to Amica's "cottages suck". I don't necessarily disagree that they are overdone, but the true power is obviously when you concentrate them in a few cities and then focus infrastructure in those cities. I know a mistake I've made / I've seen others make is that they try to make every city a 'mixed' city and it just isn't very efficient and they end up with lower power usually (as you're building infrastructure in mediocre commerce cities instead of military). I also think Amica is spoiled because they've landed the GLH so often. Its going to be great this game and it was great in PB60 and obviously PB59 as well.
