Decided to bulb alphabet so if i get another 10t peace with chum, i should be able to build research till i get monarchy and that will solve most of my problems right now. I have basically no calendar resources, and only silver ( and eventually whale ) for happy. I can grow most of my cities alot more than they currently are.. I JUST NEED HAPPY! Currency in 2t, and then mysticism for monument happy- sailing for a galley to screw with commodore a little bit.

Speaking of Commodore.. He actually accepted peace! So now that i dont have to worry for a couple turns, im moving a couple defenders from that area to go and deal with..

8 HA's. Chumchu moved a chariot to see what i had in Skyshrine, and apparently i had enough to deter him. Now he is getting ready to hit House of Thule. To meet the 8 HA's, i will have 2 archers, 2 spears, 3 WC's and a HA. I really dont see where Chumchu can go at this point. If he doesnt take the peace treaty, i slowly out produce him and start razing his border cities. Now that i have Alphabet i can see that he doesnt even have math! Just a war of attrition at this point.

This is what i have, with all mounted units being within range of most potential spots he can move those HA's. WC's are a decent counter to HA's especially when i dont believe most of his units will have upgrades.

If i get a peace treaty with him, i plan on having this current force of HA's/WC's sitting by skyshrine ( with skyshrine building another spear or two ) and using all my production to build as many HA's as i can and road the far east and try and raze a couple cities. At the very least i can out tech him at this point.

Feeling pretty fantastic! Getting currency should stabilize my eco a bit, and im still killing it in land area/production so why not try and double up my land? Full speed ahead with ConquerChumchu.exe

Feels good to get a couple decent rolls.. He moved a Axe/spear/chariot/HA onto the hill south of my ( his ex ) city. Didnt go well for him. He should still have about 7-8 HA's running around right now, but im feeling pretty good about either getting a 10t peace again and then slamming him in the face with HA's.. OR slowly moving a stack of spear/axes near Tlatelolco and then running mounted either into it, or elsewhere depending on what he does.

Other than two of my cities, the rest will be pumping out units until he is dead.

Chumchu surprised me by taking Skyshrine. However, i had plenty of extra units available to take it back AND secure it against all but another 10 HA's. I also was able to whip a spear. If i had taken slightly more time to think over the re-taking of Skyshrine ( it was defended by a very low hp chariot.. ) I could have attacked his HA stack with an extra unit. I had a HA that could only JUST make it into the city, while the rest of my stack could reach the city AND move to hit something outside of it. I hope im not kicking myself for letting him get an extra promoted HA.

I think i have broken his back with this one, he whipped 4! times. With one of those whips being what seems like a dry HA/other unit whip. If these are all units, i just need to hold and defeat the next wave and im pretty sure his happy cap will be hurting. So, while i think i made a mistake leaving the city available to be attacked/captured.. i think its going to work out in the end as i flood Chumchu with HA's/WC's. Going to pile 2spears/axes and a archer and what i have left in the middle ( plus what i produce from most of my cities ) and attack his gold/wheat city. While im doing this, im going to distract him with 6-8 WC's on the east side, by razing a city or two. Im so far ahead of Chumchu tech wise that it will be 40+ turns before he gets currency at this rate. My tech path is Mysticism- ( for monument happy/extra culture in House of Thule to face off against Commodore) sailing to get trade routes with whomever i find with my magic workboat that will be going north-west along the shore.. - Either Construction if Chumchu gets some lucky rolls/ect, or going straight for Monarchy for the better long term.

The carnage that is war.

Last couple HA's in production for the "punching" power to get thru spears on hills.. and the rest will be WC's. With 6+ coming from one city over the next couple turns as it gets a couple chopped out.

Cant wait to see the power drop the next couple turns.

He's going to get a bunch of healing on this next turn.. Ill have to watch out for any super promoted HA's wrecking a spear somewhere. Although, from looking at my earlier attack.. i think Chumchu wasted his GG by sprinkling the xp over all the HA's he had for.... just combat 1? Makes me believe that my earlier assumption that he had built nearly no barracks/stables is right.

Gavagai is my major rival this game. As soon as i ( im figuring i will ) bust down Chumchu, ill likely be at his door. Whipped walls, and a bunch of 2 promo axes will be needed to keep him in check. Then it should just be a matter of sweeping thru Commodore-and whomever else at knights for the win. If Gavagai doesnt run a bunch of Preats into Chumchu before he dies, ill be very surprised.

Next turn ill post a bigger update, including each city and my plans for them in the near-term.

Overall situation: Not bad. Im probably not the tech leader, but im equal with everyone i have met so far in terms of beakers, and even ahead of the Mid's player. ( not that there is likely enough food for much specialist )

Im up currency/alphabet on basically everyone. While being down mysticism/sailing/IW/masonry. Chumchu is understandably far behind, still lacking math. So im sitting pretty there.

We will see in the next turn or two how much killing most of that stack actually hurt chumchu.

I move up to 3rd when at full speed teching, not bad for someone that has been at war the whole game and has only silver for happy.. Right?

Going to be launching my two prong attack in about 7-10t. I expect to raze at least one city of Chumchu's, possibly 2? I have a settler being built after the workboat to be used as a combat settler. More on that when it gets closer to my counterattack.

Any questions?  Other than whatever chumchu might end up doing, i have the next 10t or so fairly well planned.

Im still worried that Commodore will decide to further ruin my chances by launching some hail-mary attack against me even though DZ has been slapping him around. That, is my luck.

Commodore COULD attack in 6 turns or so so i am watching out for that. Chumchu attempted to send a blank 10t peace to me, im not seeing the current benefit. I did however send back two different offers. Either, 10 gpt or 57 gold ( enough for 1 full turn of 100% research ) If he wants peace badly enough, thats his options. Otherwise in roughly 8-10t i will be launching my two prong attack. Im going to raze a city on his east side and then capture his wheat/gold city.

IF Chumchu doesnt keep whipping HA's ( his production is really low otherwise ) He should fall in less than 25t. Maybe 30t if he hunkers down with lots of spear whips, forcing me to go for cats.

Chumchu showed a HA, and i was able to trade two WC's for it. A hammer-losing trade, but i have FAR more hammers than he does so any time  i can kill ill probably take the shot. The kill also gave me a look into his capital, showing 8HA's, 1 axe, and 2 Guerilla archers. I already have him matched in mounted units, so as long as i keep good count of the power graph/his whipping i should be able to roughly see how many HA's he has. Still about 6-8t or upto 10t away from launching my two prong attack, but i decided to play a better long game by getting some libraries/monuments built so i can continue to grow taller. The longer we are at war, the better i become.. he HAS to do something with those HA's before i have an overwhelming force... right?

I swapped some builds around after this screenie, but starting next turn its all military  hammer

I came close to killing the HA with just one WC ( 23% odds ) but had to use an injured WC to finish it off. Still a win i think.

How i compare currently.

Ill be posting the TECHS screen every couple of turns to see how the tech pace is. I still think im top of the pack, but probably not the leader.

I failed to mention it earlier, but WOW Donovan is way behind in tech. t108, and no writing? That cant end well.

Ive traded a little bit of production for nearly doubling my gpt. I can get tech sailing next turn, but im going to save for a couple turns to try and get meditation right after.. Im heading straight for monarchy as it is the only thing stopping me from actually having a decent gnp. After that? Probably full speed to knights. If i dont get backstabbed by a random Commodore attack, i see my main concerns as Gavagai or Icehazard. Going to increase my chances to win this game to about 25%.

Military is being pumped out, Chumchu's days are numbered. I think the two prong will really throw him for a loop. Wonder what Icehazard is going to think? ( he has a warrior near my raze-force )

Im roughly tied for city count with the other top players, other than Gavagai as he has a rediculous 3-4 city lead on me. AGG preats+ fin are going to be hard to beat unless he has killed his eco at this point?

Well out of everyone i have met, only Icehazard and myself have currency now. Everyone else is missing currency, and everyone other than myself is missing alphabet. I sent Commodore an open borders offer, as i will be getting sailing EOT. Pretty doubtful that he will take it but maybe it can be the thing that keeps us from going to war?

Ive set up signs to remind myself what my invasion force(s) need before attacking. Its going to be about 5t till my BIG attack, and somewhere around 6-8t till my razing/flank stack attacks. ( 15 for big stack, 7 for small ) Ill be covering the big stack with 3 spears and an axe to garrison the newly acquired city.

Here's hoping for some good combat luck  crazyeye
