I wish I could have just played in it, but it's hard to know if I'll be busier than I am now, a few months from now. Better to sub, in my circumstances, because I know for sure I can spare time for a shorter period.

Appreciate your guy's decisions. I hope people drop sooner rather than later though so it doesn't screw up diplo.

I don't know, lurking this game has been pretty fun recently (and probably a lot more fun than Sulla is having )

There's a certain glory to both. It's like beer and wine. Both are very good but should be reserved for the appropriate occasion.
(Champagne is something else all together. Winning a game?)

Well to get off the Spullla dogpile topic, athlete+kalin are doing a masterful job in this game of setting themselves up to win. First they rallied everyone to KO the #1 team in the game (hardest part). They've got this alliance with Whosit and Jowy, which should be enough to knock out the rest of the players in the game. That would leave the 3 of them as the final 3. I think they view Jowy as an easy target, and with Whosit's tendency to be completely erratic, I think they are far and away the favorites to win this game.

I have also expressed interest in being on call, and am staying out of those threads.

Would it be worth it for one of the current spoiled lurkers, like myself, to stop reading all rbpb2 for now? Cos like m4gill- i'd be more than happy to sub in yet am thoroughly spoiled.
In the future thought, knowledge of peoples civ's x many turns ago might not be such sensitive info. I'd be willing to do this to try and help in case this happened again but would be rather useless right now i guess.

I think in future games, having a few alts lined up in the planning thread, or perhaps even a seperate "alt signup thread" may be a good idea.
As problems like this and like the wartime turn-splitting are encountered and overcome it will refine the pitboss process into something more efficient and standardized which is good for everyone.
EDIT: Would it be appropriate to start an "alternate list" thread in the RBP3 forum so those of us who are interested can make ourselves known to that community?

Just to change the subject slightly, I would just like to ask how many lurkers would do this.
If you were Korea would you, when Rome declares war on India, speak to Spulla and get them to offer some 'guarantee of later support' and NAPstab Whosit with every military unit you have?
With Korea effectively looking at a game of mediocrity in terms of power due to their consignment to the islands. would you risk it all on an assault on Whosit which could make or break the game for you? I'm sure Spulla would bite Korea's hand off for them to cause havoc in Whosit's mainland while his praetorians are otherwise engaged.
Personally I would definitely do it as it is most definitely their best (and likely last) chance to become a major force. I'd rather lose doing something bold. I also believe that this would be Spulla's best plan to try and deal with the praetorians when they turn up. I would be hugely surprised if this wasn't their diplomatic play as soon as they see Whosit coming, especially as you can rule IKZ out as they will have a new leader (probably) who will only just be getting to grips with the game.
So what would you do?
