I'm paranoid. Maybe they're due for a great engineer. Still, it would be amusing to ask them about it.

KJN - how many Great People have CFC spawned? I think I count 2 from the Google Doc - any reason to believe that it's not that?
Pyramids was built on T112.
Metal Casting was founded on T125. Assume for the sake of argument that CFC rushed a forge in their Mids city on T125.
We build Taj EOT138.
To get an Engineer on T137 and guarantee beating us:
25t of 2GPP from the Mids
12t of 3GPP from an Engineer
= 86 Engineer points. They'd have 28% odds of getting an Engineer at 300GPP if they planned it right. I don't see them taking all the effort to rush a GE at such low odds.
The real question is - can they hand-build Taj faster than us? We need to be tracking their production values in the cities that we know of, especially their capital. Do we think that they have visibility on Adventure One?
You can't get the tech and finish the forge on the same turn. Unless of course you actually mean MC was completed on eot124. And they'd need to get the Engineer on eot136 to guarantee beating us.
Have they been in Pacifism? Those numbers could double.
I doubt very seriously they can outbuild us.

sure you can. you can time 3 chops or dry whip. not likely to be that desperate, though.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

You can't complete Metal Casting eot125 and also complete a forge eot125, is what he's saying.
I just went through every CFC city, and I can't see a single forge anywhere in their land. I might have missed it, so it'd be good if someone else that can log into the game could double-check. Here are my notes for buildings in their cities:
CFC city list:
Indira: jewish, palace, granary, jewish temple, library, academy
As far as I know, CFC has had two great people so far, on T101 (used for Academy) and T127 (bulbed Philosophy). Most of their cities has been sitting on zero production for quite a while, and I'm fairly sure they've run tons of wealth builds lately to fuel their research. The flip side to that is of course a lack of units, expansion, and infrastructure - they've had Currency since T103 and MC since T125, but haven't built a single market or forge anywhere.
This also means I'm fairly sure that the Great Merchant born this turn belongs to Apolyton, probably born in their capital. I expect a huge influx of gold to their coffers soon.

No, no machinery yet. On the other hand, it only took them 4t to research Nationalism, but 3 of those were in Caste and probably runnings lots of scientists - estimate 600 raw beakers per turn (and some overflow from Alphabet). I expect they can research Machinery on T133 or T134, and revolt to Nationhood on T134 (they revolted to Slavery/OR on T129).
So beginning from T140 I think the Spanish team will be in deep trouble. On the other hand, maces are slow, and as long as they have a decent stack of catapults they can still heavily damage any attacking stack and force it to retreat (even if they can't destroy it).
