I think those slavery tweaks have really changed this game. Right now I'm trying ot figure out how best to build all of the necessary buildings, and I think I'm coming to the conclusion that I can't build them all, at least in the time frame that is given to me due to tech speed.
I think I'm going to go for Lib, PP and Democracy then just rush buy what I want. Again.

Well, without the Kremlin it's not actually that great - I definitely wouldn't be rush buying everything. With the Kremlin it's solid though. Also, it's partly down to the map and the fact I'm Fin in this game and a few cities don't have much food/land. If I were playing another leader I would probably tech MC next, swap to Caste and workshop the grasslands, but as Fin, I want to get those cottages up (and the coast gives me an extra commerce that would be useful in rush buy, but wouldn't help none-Fin civs as much).
Eh, to put it simply, I think it's Fin that needs the nerf, not US.

Yeah, I did and I did appreciate that it wasn't quite a consistent comparison. I just recalled you had said you didn't rate Fin in a previous PBEM so I couldn't resist digging it up.
I take it that the Fin nerf isn't doing enough then. Is it really that powerful? Or is just that cottages are very strong if you focus on them.

Cre was nerfed, it lost the cheap lib.
Exp lost the cheap granaries, but had workers boosted to +35% and workboats to +35% I think.
Pro got boosted by gaining cheap granaries but lost D1 on archers and GP units.
Imp I think was boosted to +60% to setlers. it got boosted in PBEM16 to +67%.
IMP basically is best as it can be thought of as a multiplicative bonus, it synergises well with EXP and CRE. It's not a bad trait by itself, especially with the top traits getting brought down a notch or two. Fin though, just hasn't been nerfed that much. It now needs 3 commerce on land tiles before it kicks in, instead of 2. I can see teh argument that it is a good nerf for mainly land maps but if you can use the coast instead it's enough to keep you afloat and still teching. In this game at one point I had about 4 more cities than the other players and was still teching due to getting lighthouses down in all of my cities and I grew them to use the coast and then the hills. Which seems a decent decision considering the lack of flatland to cottage.

Ok, so coast is giving you a short-term boost, but that won't be such a good tile in the late game. That seems fair enough to me. It's got to have *some* benefit.

And no, I didn't kill it. By my reckoning, All that GM is going to do is let Yuris tech a few techs, and as I'm about 10 turns from Paper, I'm always in favour of tech boni. Making 400bpt, -250gpt at 100%, +120gpt @0%, all cities founded next turn except 2 filler cities I'm unsure about.
Oh, and I'm building the MoM, because why not? Either I get a decent wonder in a city that has no buildings to build and I have other cities than can spread the religion, or I get the fail gold from OR and marble. Either way I'm happy.
