build a road between your two current cities then, also building a road on the PH and the copper for future Mobility, up towards the middle

No, I definitely sent it, five days ago (I just double-checked). I'll post in the tech thread to try and get this sorted out - remember that the tracker often displays incorrectly after my turn.

Sian,
Here is an overview shot of everything that's happening. I tried to follow your advice, except for the placement of the newest city, which I tweaked just slightly. Anyway, Fintourist declared war on somebody or other a few turns ago, probably just to kill a scout - I can't imagine a rush on a map like this. Good thing I got my scout away, eh?

Here is another "summary picture." I've improved all the resources around Madrid (er ... some Numenorean city), and the workers are now heading south to improve around the city to be settled down there next turn. Armenelos does indeed have its Granary, as prompted, though I thought I should halt its growth to pop out another worker or two and finally get some cottages running! Romenna is chugging away on the Great Lighthouse; I'll chop up there when it gets closer to completion so I know the forest(s) won't be wasted. As you can see I forgot to give the Corn tile back to Armenelos; I'll do that next turn. That's about it!

So sadly, I lost the Great Lighthouse. There was nothing I could do about it - I just started too late. In other news, that next city has been founded.

Here is the empire, such as it is:
Actually, I'm tied for cities with everyone but Azza, who has two more than anyone else (but is last in score for some reason). Another settler is building in Romenna (a chop will cut down on that time). As you can see, I just founded Judaism there, with one beaker to spare as far as I can tell (I jiggled some tiles around last turn and this to get it just right - my cities worked some suboptimal tiles to accomplish this, but none that would delay their growth or builds, and I didn't want to lose out on the religion by one turn if someone else was researching Monotheism). Now I must choose between Mathematics - Currency and Monarchy to research next; I'm thinking the former based on growth rates and the fact that I'll be whipping and building settlers and workers for a few turns yet.

Here is my civ at turn 80:
For reference, Azza has seven cities, and the others five or six. I'm going to be founding my sixth in four turns.
Here are my demographics (I would have put up the graphs too, but I lost them on Azza just now due to forgetting to switch around my EP spending - that's been rectified):
Obviously I'm doing pretty poorly, except in city count. I don't know what it is - I haven't succeeded in getting as invested in this game as in my other one, and my play has been just kind of sloppy as a result. I think it has to do with the exceedingly slow pace of this game in comparison, being on normal instead of quick speed. I know which way I'll be voting in future games! Anyway, since I've kept up in city count, the situation is probably recoverable; I'm about to land Monarchy for lots of upward growth, which will improve those demographics quite a bit I hope. First, some more workers, though ...

It's been 10 turns; time for an update.
What's going on:
Moving up to settle the last habitable spot outside the jungle and the islands. Keeping up in city count, but that's about it:
Check out those awful demos. They make me want to barf.
My cities:
Not much to build here save for garrison units, so figured I might as well get a barracks first. Will be regrowing onto cottages.
I've seen other players' galleys buzzing around, so thought I should get some of my own to scout out the islands.
Building the last piece of infrastructure available to me until Currency comes in.
Just finished its work boat.
I'm happy to take questions if anyone has any. I guess I just need to grow onto cottages at this point, and get markets out when they become available.

T97 - finished Currency (well, eot96). Had to choose between Metal Casting and Calendar (both ~5t). Went for Calendar: more happiness with less effort, allows me to improve tiles, I can grow onto mines for more production if needed. Research seems to be moving fairly steadily even though my GNP shows as being awful. Building lots of cottages, preparing to build MP garrisons for combined growth and defence. No idea where I should settle next: jungle or islands.
