Thought I should ask this before this get rolling to quickly. Can we hold off on actually starting until after Easter. It gets pretty busy for me IRL around now, so if we could wait till Monday the 22nd that would be just awesome.

What normally happens is that over Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, the turn timer is increased to something like 168 hours and people play when they get the chance. Once the holiday season is over, then the turn timer reverts to the original turn a day pace.

This is leads to fewer mishaps with people not realising the game has restarted., but also reduces the pressure massively.

"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

Quote:1) Settings:
Pangea mapscript, cylindrical wrap, Emperor level, mapsize and other settings at mapmaker's discretion.
No villages, events, vassal states, technology trading.
Normal barbs.

6) Mapmaker: Krill. He is supposed to roll a reasonable map, balance capitals and give everyone strategic resources. No further balancing effort is expected.

So I've looked through some maps. I've found the best one, and I've balanced the capitals and strat resources as requested (there are still some changes to be made following lurker suggestions). But there's a problem.

I cannot publicly state that this is a reasonable map. On all the maps I generated except this one, at least 2 players did not have playable starts, with playable defined as "I think you can win from this spot". With this one, that applied to only 1 player.

With this in mind, I am going to go back to square 1, and I am going to generate you a pangaea type map with an alternative map script, to meet the rest of the criteria you have chosen. I hope to have the process completed by Wednesday evening, so the game can be hosted, and with the proximity of Easter, the turn timer can just be left at 168 hours from game set up to next week.

I figured Pangea meaning the land type. Whatever makes a good supercontinent.

+1. Krill, what alternative mapscript do you want use? And another question: can you publicly state that it was possible to win from DZ's start in PB41?
Thank you for your efforts anyway smile

The map script itself need not be Pangaea. Big and Small or Balanced map scripts would work just as well.
