There is at least one player with a completely landlocked capital. Also I'm pretty sure Gavagai is researching Animal Husbandry. The starts seem to be quite different. The early techs can be either Agriculture or Hunting. Will look into it some more.

Nice spot (scout location for city).  Move red dot 1 E and they will both fit.  Def wait for BW ... expect copper in one of the unforested hills (ie the tile with 2 on it ).

Fishing boat completes next turn.  I moved the scout to that hill (see above) and this is what was revealed ...



Suggest moving to red circle square. I spend some time gazing into the fog ... comments in yellow below ...

Settled in place and named our capital Tombola based on the Word of the Day.  I also changed our civilization to 'Word of the Day'.

And now, many years later, I understand the lyrics from Evita:

Scout didn't find anything newsworthy.

The tile 3E of the scout is a forest. So we could go 1 SE next turn and then go NE-E fromm there the turn after.

Alternatively, we could go NE (1 tile only) next turn and just wait there if no animals are around then go 2NE from there (I think that is a forest?). This way we complete the way around our capital faster but have less info about the south east.

A large inland sea to the south. This will be very nice with FIN and perhaps Moai if we can get the spot later on.

   

In other news:
For some reason, Tombola is the most amazing city in the world. 
Another bear appeared, this one to the east of Tombola. I'm worried about our scout.
