Current plan is to chop 1N of the mine which completes right after the settler and we can put that into a worker, which then completes in 4t. We have only the warrior that you see on the hill, along with 3 hammers into another warrior which we could complete with the chop. Where are you thinking we would need to settle "safely"?

Well not only is it cramped, but the land quality is absurdly good. Actually I think this means good micro will matter more than usual, there are so many good tiles to snowball onto.

So would it work to whip the settler when it has one turn to go, finish the worker sooner, and regrow to size 3 on the warrior?
I was thinking the pfh NE of the closest copper. Are you thinking SW of furs? In either case the warrior can beeline to your chosen spot, I suppose. Then send two workers to kickstart the city.
I wouldn’t really feel comfortable dotmapping this without simming. Expanding as fast as possible sort of trumps the theoretical considerations of which spots are most optimal.

Right now my quick first draft looks like this.
This sim probably grows Thoughtseize too much and we might want to stop at size 2 and get those workers moving north towards the third city. Also, I actually did not notice the far northeast copper until you mentioned it just now.

I read the fist in the screenshot as a sign that you were in anarchy, for some reason. If you haven’t revolted then letting the settler complete first is probably good. Unless you have to wait for a military escort anyway.

Note that we literally just researched BW and are not in Slavery. The plan was to revolt to Slavery during the settler move, the usual.

I like that city location! Assuming this isn’t in fact a 3cc.

That second settler should move in one turn on roads to its spot 1SW of furs.

Yeah, now I've got this.
Ignore the spearman builds, they should be warriors since I researched Hunting too early for some reason. EDIT: Although if we are settling next to the fur like this then Hunting may actually be on time.
