I don't remember what it is called, but I remember there is a math formula with a bunch of % odds of x thing leading to advanced life. Basically even assuming some pretty low odds there are so many stars it is extremely likely there is life and even intelligent life out there. So I'm fully prepared to believe there is life beyond earth.
I remain less convinced they have visited earth. Even if they found us and have the tech to get here I am skeptical they would get seen by us as almost surely their technology would also be advanced enough to not be seen / detected. But, neither do I think its absolute 0%, just very very very (repeat for a while) unlikely.
My wife recently (4-5 days ago) saw a whole bunch of weird lights in the atmosphere when she was closing down the barn and had the natural "what was that / could it be?". It was human space debris reentering. I'm not saying that is what those are, as from my understanding space debris tends to show more clustered, 'streaky' light wise, and linear if from same broken up object.
