Hah, yeah, I should have been a lot more afraid of coast than I was, for sure! The capital is a much tougher nut to crack in this game.

Also, I wonder if this game is getting close to rivaling PB11 now for the game that is still going long after everyone would like it to be over. lol

It's certainly a very interesting game to lurk and cheers to you for thriving as you have.

The turn pace is getting painfully slow. Mack and Scooter had better watch it, or we're going to bring Parkin into this. This game could actually celebrate a birthday soon. (July 24 is when we played turn 0. Come lurkers, there will be cake, in the "Portal" sense.)

I finished Ironworks in Suit Up, because why not? Assembly Line finishes this turn, a Golden Age could start in 5 if I'm lucky.

Plako has tanks and a massive production lead. If he just wants to run a statistical hammer and build so many units that he can take the first strike from everything I have, there's not much I could do about it. He does have to worry about Mack on the other side, as always, which is the thing keeping me alive. I have both opportunity (for Mackoti) and necessity on my side there, i.e. if Plako could take me out he might be the clear leader in the game, and Mack couldn't afford to let that happen.

Plako is getting Plastics, which is an interesting choice. My guess is he wants Three Gorges, which might be a massive value given he (and me too) are on the biggest continent in any game EVAR.

My ascent to 5th place is complete!! It's all skill, baby, all skill. Now to get to 4th I just need someone to attack Commodore. Come on Scooter, we can do this together and make it work.

What does it mean when even I'm getting bored of doing peaceful city and empire management? lol

So it goes... Assembly Line done. Great People due in 3 and 4 turns. Physics in 3, probably headed to Electricity with that. No signs of potential danger anywhere. What's interesting is that through spreading EP out on everyone I actually have a pretty impressive amount of the world lit up in city visibility. I guess nobody really cares to invest a lot of EP in me!

Mack is going for Medicine. I have no idea, he has large cities that need the health boost from hospitals maybe? He has Broadway, Rock, and Sistine, I still wonder if he's actually going to try and win by culture?

And I'm still wondering if Commodore is actually going to try to colonize the eastern continent after this mass coastal rampage against Dtay. Or if he's just doing it because he's bored? lol

It means it is time to attach someone! You know you want to!

To be fair, the theme of this game is becoming: are you bored of PB13? Then get on a boat and go attack Dtay! (And there is an island of his right next to me...)

Responding to this:

Mindy Wrote:You're doing very well in PB13. You've achieved the main-land fortress that I had been envisioning and pushing for since a fairly early part of that game. I failed to influence you on prioritizing that outcome but it worked out anyway. I have certainly had a lot of "what ifs" go through my mind about the outcomes had you strategized for that outcome after I stopped ded-lurking. It could have been worse with a failed attack or it could have been much better with an earlier mainland fortress. Mostly, I conclude that you would have done better.

It's funny because even just now, Harry and Fintourist attacked 2metra, and took a couple of cities down an a pretty large power spike.

I'm even still not sure it wouldn't be possible to own his part of the continent! Like, how close is an actual war between Plako and Mack to breaking out, and would Plako be prepared to react rather quickly if I went at 2metra again? He does have tanks, and flight soon...

It's not very consequential now but I don't really see how it was even possible to get a grip on all the land I have now much earlier. We converged on Plako _precisely_ at the point where we could defend against him, not a moment too late or soon. I'm not quite sure what you're talking about but if we went at Bacchus with the brunt of his army and won taking losses, ok, we then hit a fresh Plako at a larger tech disadvantage... The devil of all the what-ifs is still the details.

Meanwhile, I haven't been reporting, but I got a Prophet last turn, and so have a 93% chance of being able to invoke a Golden Age in the coming turn. (And I'm even not sure I shouldn't save the Prophet for the 4-man golden age, since it's so rare and an Artist, Merchant, and Scientist are trivial to get with 100% certainty. That would be a bet on a very very much longer game.)

I'm going Electricity next after Physics, for the boost to Water and Windmills and also the additional Map Trading known tech multiplier unlock. So yet another meta-tech, really.

When I was experimenting with whether I could see first-to bonuses on the tech screen somehow, I accidentally had Divine Right selected and researched it! rolf People might scratch their heads at that one, I certainly did. But oh well, why not build Versailles then, lol.

There's just nothing happening in this game now... Everyone's deadlocked except Commodore who is basically done rampaging Dtay's coast. Maybe he moves on to 2metra now?

At this point I'd kind of welcome Plako rolling in with tanks just to ease the monotony a bit.

Wait, this game is still going?

Fortunately my turns are easy. 5 more turns of GA are left. I'm putting up factories and coal plants. Electricity finishes next turn for the full suite of insane known tech multipliers. (The base multiplier is 150% now I believe! Though, it can't actually be that good since it's multiplied by (number of other players who know) / (number of players), so the first term is less, because it doesn't include me. Well, it probably doesn't include 2metra either.)

I'm getting Versailles at the end of the turn! Ah, delicious weed. smoke Everyone else of significance is running SP where distance maintenance doesn't matter anyway. I haven't done the analysis and I'm hoping I won't have to in this game, but I wonder how much of a win SP is over Free Market in this situation, if it even is one.

Mackoti is going for Ecology... That must mean a space race, right? Has anyone actually ever built a Recycling Center, or is that a fake building I've heard rumors about?

There's some chance the Commodorean death squad might actually make it all the way over the seas through 2metra and to me. That would be interesting...
