Yep. 6t till pottery finishes currently. Exact amount to get it actually.

Been a busy couple of days, but here is the current map layout. Rusten appears to have pushed rather far with his 3rd! city but cant really be punished because he has a nice little inland sea to hide behind.... Lovely. He also is the Hindu founder, and id put 9 to 10 odds on him building the oracle.. If he builds it in his 3rd city for some dumbass reason, i have no qualms about razing it as my only goal ( due to it being a cock move imo ) that rice and deer should be MINE... Anyway, he is to our southwest, Lewwyn is to our West and is VERY likely to get that gold... whatever, Serdoa who is scouting with a warrior and going to incur my wrath if he steps on our deer, is to our south and im not AS worried about because i REALLY hope that he gets in a fight with Rusten. Of course, that leaves Noble/Gaspar as our eastern neighbor, and Bob is either further east ( unlikely due to Noble not being on the "top" coast from what i can tell ) OR he is on the west coast past Lewwyn. Unless pindi put him in a really weird position of course.
What does this mean for my planning? I want to get a good border city with Lewwyn to the west. Sadly due to hill placements, its likely to be just that Pig city. The rest of my concentration is on pushing north and east. Grabbing that silver and cutting off Noble's expansion prospects sounds really really yummy and im sure will give me some good entertainment when i get to read their thread.
So next city will go at the Wheat/silver. Then either AH and pigs city, or the city NW of the whales i suspect. Of course, input from my temporary dedlurker/microMachine Fintourist will sway me to one city or another if they create a better snowball, and if GKC chimes in.... with anything other than "so when we axe rushing : ![butcher2 butcher2](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/butcher2.gif) : " im sure ill give it alot of thought

Yeah, unfortunately the map layout between you and Rusten is not really favorable to you. That rice resource clearly belongs to your starting area (4 tiles from your capital) while that deer is Rusten's (5 tiles). Unfortunately the layout makes it quite impossible for you to make a play for the deer, while Rusten can try to get the rice from you.
I think the standard scenario would be settling eventually 1N of the rice and then be happy with the border. Culture-bombing that 3rd city would indeed be a slap to your face. If there is no immense culture-building this might actually be a fairly safe and peaceful border that let's you focus on other directions until your rice city increases tensions.. Not sure if Rusten will see that as stealing his rice despite it being just 4 tiles from your cap..

Micro comment: It looks that it will be very tight whether you will be finishing Pottery next turn. I think trade routes should push you over the edge, but note that you should not whip the settler unless you can still finish Pottery after the whip. You want to put that overflow into a granary build..

AH --> Sailing --> Writing would be my default order (without any real analysis).
AH will be needed soonish for the pigs city and based on my experience delaying revealing the horses tends to be a mistake for various reasons. Sailing as the next tech should come just in time so that you get to connect the whales for a much needed luxury resource + getting started with your first island city. Writing as the 3rd tech will hopefully be early enough so that you can get culture to your 3rd city via library and probably in ~20 turns you might want to have scientist specialists available in capital for the first GP + ability to use all the food resources in a meaningful way while city recovers from aggressive settler whipping.
Of course override all the tech choices based on your macro needs (Archery etc).
I'll post later today suggestions for the next set of micro.

Wow, I had totally forgotten that this is a RtR change, so scratch that argument for Sailing sd..

Not really, but I would be willing to bet that it is.. ![bang bang](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/bang.gif) Especially as the piece of land NE of Lewwyn looks even more islandish so I'm assuming that sd won't have to live without an own island if others get one. SD will have a bit more scouting info of the area before the tech selection will be made so that should help.
