"Don't move or the bunny gets it" - German Joey plays Cyrus the Virus of Khmer

Right now I have 4 workers and shall get a new chariot during each of the next 5 turns, on average. So, i went worker -> grow to 4 -> worker -> worker -> settler -> worker. This was the fastest way to get horses connected *AFTER* I discovered that I didn't have copper. Getting a settler out immediately after the second worker would get my 2nd city settled faster, sure, but would not get horses connected faster. My goal is to bully Haram around a bit until I can secure the triple food spot with Axe backup. This might seem foolhardy, and it may indeed fail because he discovered my gambit at the last possible moment he could do something to slow it down considerably, assuming even best case conditions where he's in the same resource situation I was, but I don't intend to just die slowly like a chump! If I don't have anywhere good to settle, I'll make sure he isn't settling either until I find something better!
Which of the three dots are you planning to settle? Is the lightest one still the most likely, or are you going for all 3 food resources?

The darkest orange would be best if somehow Haram just disappeared from the earth, but as things stand now the yellow one is the best because it receives a defensive bonus unless he's willing to spend an extra turn moving past it. All 3 dots get all 3 food bonuses, although I'd be highly unlikely to keep the corn if he settles e.g. 1S of it or something.

Hmmm, Haram whipped something this turn. I hope it wasn't a spear, although that wouldn't be surprising. I decided on not roading with my workers 1SW again, instead opting to chop, which will slow one of my chariots by 1 turn. It was one of those decisions that you vascillate on for a few minutes, then the moment you move you think you went with the wrong decision. Oh well, I'll find out which way or the other soon enough.

Also, someone completed Stonehenge last turn? What the hell? Why can't I have started next to that guy? There's no Industrious civs in this game, and so that seems to me to be a ridiculous move.

I'm thinking more and more that I shoulda accelerated the one chariot by a turn with that extra road... it woulda beaten that warrior back to the city, and it coulda forced him to whip a warrior. Woulda been bad odds on the attack though, being across a river, especially if he started on a plains hill like I did. Well, we'll see. I got 2 more chariots popping up next turn.

Haram whipped his capital this turn... is it a spear? If all he has in his city are these 2 warriors next turn, then I have a ~55% chance to take the city and start snowballing insanely! With my luck this game though, he has copper hooked up. My job is then to find it. Who wants to bet its on that river?

Looking at this screenshot, I feel a twinge in my stomach about that road, as I would actually have been able to strike this turn, with a 68.7% chance to take the city. However, the more likely scenerio is that instead of this picture, he woulda just whipped a pair of warriors out on the previous turn. Ho hum.

TPS is lookin helluva buff...

Ah, nothing like spending 3 hours trying to get your civ working again after a shitty steam update, and finally, so-excitedly logging into see that not only does Haram have a spearman, he, unrealized to you until right before you ended turn and already moved your other units, killed one of your chariots from across a river without losing a single hp. Fuck me.

Mmmm, not only can I not take the city, he can either counter-choke me to the east or eat my warrior for free XP. Still thought I had both chariots alive. frown Situation not looking good... look at the way that river wraps, why is his land so fucking perfect for defense... also he has a plains hill capital and a forested-deer, that was a 10T worker. Farmable 5F tile (6F for him) and a fur. Ugh. Still don't see copper; I don't see any roads to the SW, so its either much further to the W or to the SE on the river. I'll bet anyone One Meeeeelion dollars its to the SE on the river.

In other news he just planted a 3rd city somewhere.

He might have a glowing blue spear but I'm still not done yet. He didn't whip this turn and still only has the 1 spear; I'm giving him the option of either protecting his copper, protecting his city, or whipping more spears at lvl 2 without a granary. Which is honestly fine with me, my capital is almost lvl 6 and is already producing almost twice as many hammers per turn as his entire civ. Copper due to be hooked up t52 and will have an axe finished that turn. Just gotta keep the pressure up...

Haram offered a cease fire, a very contemptuous move that suggests that he thinks I'm a fucking idiot. Ok sure, my rush failed to wipe out your civ because you happened to scout it at the worst possible moment for me. However, why would I give up now that I have all this military built and all this production online? So you can build up your vastly better land and eclipse me later? At the very least I can force you to whip away all your amazing tiles while my capital grows enormous. I can catch up in cities later when I can pop out 3T settlers out of my capital, tankuvarymooch.
