T153 - The Inner Eye
Launched GA. Didn't change civics yet. Second promos off the gate would be great, but atm I feel science is more important.
I have a mix of Anti-Tank and Airport builds. I got research visibility on Greenline after ending the turn. He's also going for Radio.
I'll be sad if I won't have the air advantage. Gotta watch out for Cristo Redentor competition too.

T154 - Ooh Radioo tell me everything you know
Greenline has Fighters out Ugh. No air advantage for us.
I have to give props to him. I think 99% of players would have attacked Dreylin when he lost all of his units against Pickle. If he had done that, I would have had an easy time marching to victory. Now we're locked in a standstill, neither strong enough to attack the other.
Maybe I should just attack Pickle at this point. It's probably easier to hit Pickle hard enough that he'll concede than trying to go on the offensive vs Greenline. I should have enough units by now that I can still defend vs Greenline if he dogpiles me. I think I'll need Tanks to take cities though. Two techs needed for those. I can build fighters and bombers while waiting.
Started Cristo Redentor. I will get it before the GA ends so even if Greenline snipes it with a Great Engineer, I can get one free civic swap in.

Looks like we'll get an early concede. I'll take it cause I was just about to change plans to that anyway. Greenline played well and earned himself a spot in the next round.

VICTORY IS MINE!!!
And it came the most unexpected way: NOT A SINGLE WAR ON RECORD!
Ofc only possible thanks to Dreylin defending well.

Haha, congratulations on the win, and I'm amused that we got there almost completely differently.

Sounds like I should read the A-game

Nice game you had here. Some thoughts after reading your thread:
How did you manage to build a lot of the early wonders (SoZ, GLH, GLib, Mids) so quickly? From my experience the map was poor in both hills and forests for production.
If I had known you were extending so far towards picklepickl I definitely would have pushed harder to get the gems site earlier and maybe harrassed any settling parties. I was thinking at the time it wasn't too far away from your core and Egypt was not fun to mess with.
If you were planning to have that big cannon/knight stack hit me when I would attack Dreylin the second time, wouldn't it have been prudent to keep it out of airship range? Or was it placed there so you could also hit picklepickl if worst came to worst?

Congrats on resisting the Jowy on your shoulder and not getting dragged down into the mud! I tell you I was waiting and waiting for it to happen...

Wonders: From what I remember, most of the hammers came from forest chops. I prioritized raising the happy cap and had high pop cities very early, and I started building workshops as soon as I could and got all the boosts for those. Golden Ages probably helped too.
Stack: It had sat there for a long time lol. I picked a tile that was close to all fronts. Should have tried to hide it after I got railroads.

Congratulations Jowy, you really deserved your win. Rather than be intimidated by the two IND civs, you grabbed a bunch of powerhouse wonders, landgrabbed hard in defensible positions, and leveraged all that with your PHI-powers while playing your opponents off against each other. Really good job; good luck in winner-land!
