Only getting better from here!
Markets into forges, into wealth, into knights, into a win?
All those workers getting chumchu's land upto speed.
Commodore's stack + city counts for the top players.
I plan on planting at least two more cities before getting to knights, and possibly two more after that once i get courthouses. Ill probably end up keeping a stack of x-bows and catapults on Gav's side, and send a stream of knights over to commodore. Mainly because, preatorians are going to be a pita to launch an attack into.. but i can defend fairly easily against them with x-bows.

Alhazard passed me in production momentarily as his Hanging Gardens play gave him a shit load of extra pop. Im slowly gaining in food, and my gnp will continue to be top notch as markets complete. I have 1 great city to settle, and 2 ok/meh cities i can settle down the road. Still planning on building forges- wealth to get to knights ASAP. I will also be building a sizeable catapult stack for the southern border, along with some axes/HA's to take on the praets. I should be able to contain Gavagai for a long time due to his research rate being in the gutter. Still no currency for either him or Commodore.. so i figure a mass whipping of HA's into knights should roll over at least Commodore, and whatever left over stack of stuff i make before knights can guard against the roman legions.
I might make a small detour to grab the music artist/ get heroic epic up and running.. all things to consider. Other than Commodore going wild and attacking me relentlessly in the nearby future, im slightly worried that Gavagai will ignore fixing his economy and run a strike econ and slam his legions into me till the end of time.

Going to be a LARGE post, ill try and spoiler anything that i dont directly talk about.
Alhazard launched a GA. Yet, im still only 21 hammers away from him and im starting to build forges. Crop yield will shoot up to hopefully alot closer to first over the next 10t or so as my new cities grow onto good food tiles. Also of note, im only 200k soldiers below gavagai. I can hammer that out fairly quick, especially because ill be keeping an eye on his troop movements. A round of cats ( somewhere around say, 20? ) ought to be enough of a deterrent on that border + a stack of WC's/other assorted mess. Sadly, it looks like Chumchu didnt settle on the gold tile to grab the corn/pigs.. so if Gavagai were to attack he would have a nice hill to position on.
Finishing up markets and other research/wealth buildings pretty soon, especially as the cities hit their happy cap and start working workshops. Sadly, they arent the super-improvements of RTR.. but they will help some of my cities that have an abundance of food. Forges will go down in all my military centers, followed by cats/HA/WC's being pumped out while the rest of the empire works wealth to push for knights.
With Alhazard running a golden age, and having such a large stash of gold... i have no idea what he is aiming for. If i start to see him go down the music line ill probably bow out from getting the free GArtist. The way i see it, Alhazard is my long-term rival right now. With Gavagai being my short term threat. Commodore can certainty choose who wins this game by launching an attack at either of us. Im still hopeful that Donovan/discord can hold out for at least another dozen turns, but im not holding my breath.

Discord team just lost two cities. I... probably need to start making units like now.

In the process of trying to keep up in units.. building crossbows and catapults ( and some Horse archers ) as Base BTS praets are retarded. Base BTS praets post-conquering someone with a shit ton of promos are even better. I declared on him and offered peace without killing his scouting chariot. 10t will secure me a MUCH better position.. i dont expect him to take it, and i expect to have a city captured this turn, but there will be much blood. Was really hoping to have more time to get to knights and eat Commodore, but then DZ went down faster than panties on prom night, Discord died suddenly to Gavagai all in the same rough span of time. Perfect.
Im close in land to gav, neck and neck in production/gnp with Alhazard, and only really "behind" in food.. however all my cities are growing and should be a much closer demos providing i dont have to whip everything into the ground to fight rome.

I got a scientist instead of a damn merchant.. Sadface.
So instead of bulbing Civil service, or guilds, i have the option of bulbing compass. YAY. Going to save it for a golden age fueled by many many turns of gold saving. Guilds-code of laws-civil service is the plan. should be able to get that during the GA, with my current tech rate being able to get guilds in 4t at max science. Ive got a decent stack that will have enough catapults/units to kick the shit outta Gav's stack when he decides to attack.

Ive got my defenses covered now with a large stack + first strike potential vs gavagai. Im pushing infrastructure right now as i slow tech to CService where i will pop my GA to get into Buru. With full steam ahead to knights, i figure i can keep producing enough in the lower half to defend against Gavagai, and build a knight force to capture the Commodore/Alhazard area. Not a huge chance of victory for me here, but im going with what might work.

Whipped a crapton of courthouses/ other eco buildings.. i have a golden age coming up where i hope to swap into End-Game civics ( at least for this game ) I have a decent force that can neuter any Gavagai stack that comes across the border.. So im planning on a shit-ton of knights to storm the Commodore border in about 30t. Enough knights that i can go straight into Alhazard afterwords and fight him to the death. I dont like my position on the map for this, as Gavagai could then walk his happy ass straight up into me, BUT this appears to be my only way to end this game.

Going straight for Guilds-paper-printing press for the added yummy commerce. Build up a knight stack- kill whomever. Ive got the production to rival either of the other two contenders, so i sure hope they fight and drag each other down.

Straight to Cuirassers. Punch a hole into Commodore, continue through into either Alhazard or Gavagai, and hope for a win?
Gavagai won the liberalism race. The guy that had no currency at t150. Beating Alhazard to the liberalism race is beyond laughable. I... don't concede ( am i even a contender ? ) just yet, as i dont think he can defeat me in any kind of time that matters..
Ive fallen a bit behind in tech, but not drastically quite yet. I dont have enormous grassland-fed cities like Gavagai, nor do i have the mid's like Alhazard.. but what i do have is determination to try and actually pull out a win this time.
getting absolutely shit on in population. Yay plains + less than steller food tiles i guess?
