Don't write other players off yet. :-p Just because Sullla does doesn't mean everyone should. :-D

Well at the moment I think both HRE, Ottomans and Korea have stronger economies than India. They are also slightly ahead on the economic techs: Ottomans have currency, Korea has Monarchy and are three turns from currency, HRE have Code of laws and are four turns from currency. India has Monarchy but still need Code of Laws and then currency.
Nevertheless I expect India to recover economically quite quickly due to their great land.
I have to run.

I think you're counting out other teams much too quickly, ironically the dogpile did exactly what they wanted it to do - it pulled Spullla backwards a bit economically. Check out the GNP figures before the war (when Spullla was 2x the next best team) and the one Sullla posted today where they are way behind the top GNP. The field is much move level now.

I wonder what Spullla are doing with their EPs. For all of their awesome micromanagement, that seems to be one area that they have neglected.
NaMOC actually have the highest GNP currently, at least while configured for research. Don't know if Spullla have realized that, either. On the other hand it seems quite likely that NaMOC will be slowed down by a war or two in the not too distant future.

Had Jowy not taken peace but fighted ion (destroying most of India's military) then yes they would still have a chance but now has India still their high mil-power (take a look at the powergraph in HRE-thread). Once they settle their 3 planned cities and the whip-anger wears off they will again be far ahead above the others.
The only way I see that India can lose is if Incas join the alliance.
Edit addendum: Don't forget that HRE might be in trouble once Mali gets those axes back from India

Not a very big deal I guess but still an obvious spoiler...

Care to tell me what the spoiler in it is?? That Jowy knew about their HA?
or that the attack on Sparta surprised him?
as 1) India used HA during the whole battle so I expect Jowxy knew that India hat HA
ad 2) is obvious by the numbers of defenders in there.(and by building the GW instead of Spears).

Well India seems to be aiming for a great engineer to bulb Machinery. It would be funny if they snatch the Hanging Gardens from athlete after he lost the Great Lighthouse - but I guess athlete has a good head start(?). OTOH, that was "athlete's" stone that India got possession of in the treaty of Athens.
Of course the other option is that India are building the Pyramids, but I guess they'd rather build the Hanging Gardens as long as they think they can get it.
I have to run.

I think we'll have to wait for athlete's big update to see what the HG plan is. It depends on how much of his production was in the books before he lost the stone. If he was at 150/300 before losing the stone, he's probably fine. 120/300, it'll be tough.

I guess I reacted more to the tone of your post than to the information content - basically it read to me like "yes, I've read his lurker thread and your assumptions are correct". I noticed that he told Spullla somewhere that "he saw them coming but still couldn't stop it". If he wants to give that impression (however futile that may be) then you shouldn't contradict him.
Anyway, no offense intended, and certainly not a big deal either way.
BTW, I'm not so sure he knew they had fastmovers somewhere. He just mentioned that they had additional troops unaccounted for - he did not explicitly say that they were fastmovers.
