Diplomacy Master Thread- Helping Your Opponents Beat Themselves

Haha fuck off you're our biggest rival.

I might consider warring over the ivory if it comes to that, sure.

Yeah, tell them we'd rather use those two workers to just road to someone else and then keep the workers afterward for ourselves.

Aztecs, whipping like mad, EPs focused on us, stalling diplomatically and now extorting 120 foodhammers for OB?

I think our next diplo piece needs to be pretty blunt: "We want to be friends but you don't seem interested." (Naturally couched in diplo niceness... but the message needs to be clear.)

Uh yeah, that's a no with CivPlayers. rolleye We only need about 4 tiles of road connection to get trade routes with CFC, and there's no point in paying for trade routes when other teams will provide them for free.

I also think that we need a polite but firm response to CivPlayers, letting them know that we're well aware of what they're doing and not to mess around with us. It might even be worthwhile to let them know that we're aware of their Horseback Riding tech ("we know that you just teched HBR; if you're thinking of attacking someone, go bother someone else, because we'll be ready").

I do think telling them about HBR is a good idea, maybe suggest that "factions within RB" think they want a war, and ask for evidence against that idea.

I fear we are leaving WPC hanging too long... we really do want to appear excited to match their excitement, right?

I don't want to distract from the CivPlayers front, is is possibly time for separating the diplo threads?

Agree.

It's only three tiles to road to CFC, too, if we start from the pig of Eastern Gem Dealers (going S-SE to rice-SE). I assume they will connect the horse as soon as they can.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

They probably figure it isn't a crazy request since we are EXP.

As for warring for 'Phants, I say yes. We all have realized they completely dominate their era militarily. We need to make sure we have them. We have twice as much pop as CivP, we shouldn't fear them.

I suggest we send CivP's a diplo response like this:
Quote:Dear WFYABTA:

Given your distinct lack of willingness to work with us as equal partners, your recent discovery of HBR, and your whipping spree, our team is beginning to question your intentions towards us.

We will gladly take our business elsewhere, and strongly suggest that if you do a check of current soldier counts and the amount of pop we have to whip, if you are looking for a target, you would do well to turn your attentions elsewhere.

Sincerely,
RB
