Seriously, though, I'm still having fun with this game, particularly since the turn pace is so smooth. I'm fine with the above protocol.
I'll let you guys know when I'm ready to take my victory lap. 
Speaking of smooth turn pace, I'll be out of town Friday-Monday. Xenu (god help me) will play my turns in the meantime. I'll leave him some instructions and have told him to call me if he can't figure things out, but hopefully he'll swing the save around without too many delays. I do recognize, though, that he does have a life too, and a small human to look after, so there's that. Apologies for any disruption to your civ-playing weekend.

Sorry for the delay in opening the save guys. I had a look at it and thought better about changing Boldly's plans without consultation. So enjoy your weekend, probably no saves to be played here unless he communicates in response to the post I left seeking input in his thread.

My plan actually called for giving all of them to you. Deleting works too.
Sorry for holding up the game. I need a second to ponder and can't really do it well from the boondocks. I'll be back Monday evening and should get it then, after a nasty 10 hour drive.

It's looking more and more like a midnight return tonight (unfortunate circumstance in my wife's side of the family forced a detour/brief family visit on the ride home), so the save will go out in the morning. You guys all owe me a big, fat alt+click. 
Thanks again for your patience. Just blame Xenu for being a big chicken and being afraid of being blamed for ruining my game.

BTW. I trust you will continue to use your thread title to keep us updated on the status of the save. I found that very helpful.
