Spoilers~! Back to Base, a Superdeath story.

Just noticed that i had put 161 hammers into SoZ... only to go look at the Tech thread and see that it was banned. Son of a bitch.

Moved Blackburrow to Heroic epic, and prepared some cities for any possible naval razing from Gavagai. Heading straight for Cuirs, and might set the capital on the Taj which by my calculations would finish the taj about the time im ready to mass-produce Cuirs. Im watching every turn for when Gavagai or Alhazard finishes/techs nationalism so i know whether to dump a bunch of hammers into another disappointment.

Just building more economy to try and catch the other two major players. Maybe a major Cuir offensive to burn some Gavagai cities? Eh, probably not. I want to conquer Commodore ASAP and hope that Alhazard and Gavagai use me as a "buffer" instead of a " who can get to the center of the egyptian tootsie pop the quickest" Im tied in raw land with gavagai, but about a million people short in population. Both Gav and Alhazard have 19 cities to my 14, and Commodore's 12. Kinda a rough uphill battle.

Decided against building the Taj right now, at least till i get some more infrastructure up. 14 turns to build is kinda long since this map doesnt have marble...

GNP is improving steadly. For the number of cities i have, my MFG is still fairly strong. Going to push for Engineering real quick for security before finishing Military tradition-Gunpowder followed by a lot of units. Im hopeful that Gavagai and Alhazard will continue their conflict and inflict damage on each other. Im thinking very hard on whether i want to leave Commodore up as a nice punching bag incase Alhazard goes across the border... ( i attack Gavagai ) OR let those two keep at it, and go and smash into commodore while i have a military tech advantage. I really hate being the monkey in the middle here. Also Alhazard put alot of whips in recently and i have no clue if they are knights to go and stomp thru Commodore, OR if they are ships to combat Gavagai.

I assume that Gavagai realizes that conquering me will take far longer than trying to take Alhazard out with naval power. That being said, he still has a sizeable force of units sitting by. If i get tech parity via Military tradition-gunpowder... and then beeline thru to astro... i think i could burn a couple cities and smash knights/cuirs into his main stack and get ALOT of flanking hits on his cats. Thats my "attack gavagai" plan. Although ill have to make sure i have a good defensive force in my coastal/"kinda coastal" cities for the immediate retaliation. His capital is within a short ride from the border so maybe i can raze enough so that his tech rate falls hard? Relying on Commodore to hold back Alhazard in that situation for long is kinda a kick in the shins though.

Who made this map again? Can i be on one of the ends of the map next time please?

  lol crazyeye

I'd have traded spots with you in a heartbeat. Being locked against the sea and agg praets is not something you wish for.

At least that was an easy decision. Die, or Die trying hard. Being in the middle of two super powers is real pain in the ass.

Gavagai lost his Moai city to Alhazard. Gavagai has a ton of cities with no defenses on the coast, so if Alhazard is prepared... he can burn quite a few cities. Ive begun building the Taj to get some fail gold for when Alhazard rushes it. ( he has a GE sitting around ) Going to use that fail gold and get to Cuirs ASAP and possibly roll over Gavagai, while protecting my coastal cities with muskets/rifles soon. Outside of a golden age, i tech faster than anyone else so i see that as quite the possibility.

Military Tradition-Gunpowder-beeline to astro, burn gavagai's border citys and then slap his main stack with 20-30 cuirs? GG. I still dont have a large chance of winning this PB, but at least ive had probably more fun in this one than any previous PB.

Production/crop yield isnt what id like it to be, but being top gnp isnt bad. Going to hope that the other two contenders continue their fighting for awhile and neither gets the other to conceed anytime soon.

Even though Gavagai got a bunch of amazing grassland, and alhazard has nearly double my city count, im feeling like i can turn this into an actual win. Wish me luck?

Walls are going up to then go into castles for more trade routes/coastal defense. After that? Other than some cities finishing up vital infrastructure, everything will be producing knights/very soon ( 6t? ) Cuirs.

Gavagai is going the "i will dominate the seas route" and Ice/alhazard is going the "imma use my GEngineer to rush the Taj route" Hopefully he uses his golden age to stay even with Gavagai in naval tech.. instead of giving up control of the seas and just rushing for rifles... lol.

Im not really down any major techs at this point in time. Paper is a 2turn tech,  banking is basically useless in BTS ( well not the BANKS, but merc ) and gunpowder ill maybe get to 1.5t it. If Alhazard goes for land military techs, ill probably have to say my chances are 10% at winning. If he goes for naval techs in his golden age... maybe closer to 30%? Idk, the longer this game goes on without me losing cities to either main contender... the more likely i see myself winning. Probably smoking some real good- smoke But thats how it feels right now.

Cities- I had to call into work a couple days, so ive had time to think about how i can win this. Wealth builds + unit builds to get me to Cavalry/rifles seemed like the fastest way. Going to start most cities on wealth once Alhazard rushes the Taj and gives me my fail gold.

I feel like ive done about 7/10 in figuring out how to make the most out of my ok-ish land. ( compared to the grasslands that my competitors have. )

I hope to have plenty of things to change when the game ends and i can see what i should have done with this land. Id say this is my best game thus far in terms of late-game performance. Considering how well i screwed up in pb40..

Why are you building an Aqueduct in everfrost instead of a forge?

Because it only gets to a base 15 hammers, i think i remember somewhere that 20base hammers is the "right" amount to make building a forge worth it?

The city also suffers a bit from unhealthiness before it can really even work the workshops, it maxes out at size 20 currently by working every tile plus a merchant. Its pumping nearly a 3rd of the empires gnp atm last i checked.
