Turn has rolled and Yuri has played, so we're up whenever. I seem to recall you saying that you were not going to be available much, so I'll just plan on playing whenever.
If you have a particular window where you might be available, let me know

Okay turn played.
Still saving gold. Our breakeven science rate is just shy of 400bpt so goin good! Oxford itself should bring that up 55-60 itself. Stealing the mine and farming one of the workshops brought the time from 7t to 5t remaining, so that's good. We even have 6t left on our stone deal
Minaret completes next turn which will bring in 56 gold for our 28 Christian buildings. I'm not sure if that gets multiplied by markets and grocers and such (I think so?) but if so, then we're probably up closer to 70gpt increase, which, needless to say, is a big deal.
With 5 cities growing at EOT and a wonder completing, we should leapfrog Scooter into 3rd place (we're currently only 7 points back). Actually in ~10t or so when we start getting the land points for all of Yuri-ville, we'll almost certainly climb into 2nd.
Last thing is that we can fire the artist at Wild and Crazy guys next turn. We'll be at 97.5 culture and so just need the 2.5 from the religion + stele. We can finally work the crazy 3/0/6 event town

And because I'm so awesome I did a bit of starvation and tile jiggering to get the time of Oxford down to 4t.
So that gives us 4 turns (or maybe 3) to figure out what we want to tech when we turn it on.

Sure, you get multipliers on the gold just like you would gold from a merchant.

Excellent. Because I love you guys so much, I went through each of the cities and figured out what it would be with multipliers.
The answer is 70.5gpt. So... bonus! We'll be pushing close to 500bpt breakeven next turn baby!!!!

As I further regoarrarr up the thread, I'm noticing that RB Mod has goofed up another tech (or at least by my understanding)
Astronomy should be 6440 beakers but it is in fact only 4830.

So I was thinking more about tech path. We have about 22 turns until our 2nd GP is born out of Church Lady, and we can kick off our next Golden Age.
So in 30 turns, we need to be in our "final" (or at least CLOSE to final) civics.
I am SWAGging that we have about 25000 raw beakers that we can tech before then.
I'm really thinking pretty hard about Chemistry here. Yes, its main value is in trade, but I gotta think that Scooter would think pretty seriously about a Chemisty for Astronomy trade, to allow him to field frigates.
The main thing is whether or not we can trust Scooter. If the two of us can trust each other not to break a duopoly (as he is not breaking up his monopoly), then we can really do some damage.
The other thing to consider is that Scientific Method gives 50% to known civ bonus. I'm not entirely sure how that works, but we're talking probably at least 50-100bpt on techs that other civs know. Corporation is the other tech that gives that bonus, and that's another tech we want to get shortly (for +1 trade routes also)
So techs we'd need for a finalish set of civics
* Drama (483)
* Philo (1288)
* Liberalism (4508)
* Nationalism (3864)
* Constitution (6440)
* Chemistry (5796)
* Sci Meth (7728)
* Communism (9016)
That's 39,123 beakers, which would be close I think. 25,000 raw beakers is somewhere around 30,000 adjusted beakers, and I tried to estimate conservatively. We might want to tech Optics (966) so we can try for a Chemistry -> Astro trade.
What are you thinking for a religion civic? Free Religion? We'd probably want to be in Pacifism during the GA to try and push out great people. I could also see staying in OR, and maybe even in Theocracy, since we're going to be leaving Vassalage and it would be nice to keep 2 promo units and 1 promo draftees (should we spend any time in Nationhood)
I'm seeing one set of civic swaps at the beginning of the GA and one at the end

So in 30 turns, we need to be in our "final" (or at least CLOSE to final) civics. You CAN wait a bit extra before triggering the Golden Age if you need to. Better than than missing a key civic change.
Also note that Philosophy and Sci Meth have multiple arrow prereqs, so 40% conversion from base beakers to final beakers rather than the usual 20%.
Spiral Minaret gold does get multiplied, although the gold happens individually in each city, not all in the Minaret city (so not like a shrine.)
