Trying to get this done before Civ5 comes out:

I'm pretty happy with the last part (#8 ), because I think it does a good job of explaining the worldwide context of why we were able to defeat Jowy. To pick back up on the discussion with Rowain from a couple of days ago, I would contend that this was when Speaker and I won the game: the ten turns from T155-T165, when we eliminated Jowy, Ottomans and Rome destroyed their armies against Inca, and slaze was forced to destroy his own economy. This sequence was the game-winning one, IMO.

You think you can finish this whole thing up in 3-4 days?
Civilization IV sure runs like a dream on my new computer.

It took me something like ten-fourteen hours just to read the thread from the part six endpoint to the end, so if Sullla does in fact finish the rest of the report before Tuesday, with all the war and drama involved (the leaked emails!), I shall be very impressed.
And also a bit concerned for the amount of sleep he's getting .
Sullla, I agree with your assessment. Having read the Jowy thread, the fakeout and misdirection involved in the turn 150 era was very well done. From the moment you annexed Greece (minus the cities that went to Turkey), you had no real economic or military competition. 'Twas all over but the shouting.

Do I think this writeup will be finished by Tuesday? Yes, yes I do:

Just three more parts left to go, I think. Will be a bit of a crunch but I expect to be done on Tuesday. Don't count against me when I say I'm going to do something.

Nice character assassination.

Krill, 20/01/10 Wrote:This. My offer to arbiter isn't restricted to this one incident; it's the same deal as the Poly demogame: every team needs to agree to me being game arbiter, and agree that all rulings are binding. The only aim I would have is to keep this game running and everyone happy.
Only reason I offered was because you couldn't keep the game rolling past turn 100 yourselves...
Other than that, solid report as usual. The ending is spot on though.

It's another excellent writeup Sullla. Writeups like this are the best parts about these games.
One thing that the report reminded me of was how despicable athlete's backstab of slaze was. I'd almost forgotten about that and then it all came flooding back and I actually became angry myself despite not even being part of the game!

Well, there's some egg on my face. Color me impressed (and concerned about your sleep).
Excellent report. I wish I'd been lurking the forums during the time this was played so I could see it develop in realtime. Reading it after the fact isn't the same. In any case, well-done for a beautiful game.

I just read the whole thing through- great read! Many thanks for the massive amount of time you must have invested in updating your thread and then writing the report.
And hey! I even got into the top 15 most anti-Spulla posts list! Awesome
(I never did stop lurking your thread, btw )
