OK, a five clue, that's bold.

KETCHUP is the most obvious connection I see, eaten on foods that you'd barbecue. You can hold a barbecue in a PARK. A DRAFT beer goes well with barbecue food, and you could have it in a GLASS or a MUG. Beyond that...

PART of a barbecue grill?
MASS quantities of food?
Or GIANT ribs?
Food on a TABLE...I'm wondering if we're supposed to think of picnic as well.
I don't see any other connections.

I think my choices, in descending order, are

KETCHUP
PARK
TABLE
DRAFT

Having given it second thought I'm not sure I like GLASS or MUG. At a barbecue you drink from disposable cups. But GLASS is what I pick over MUG.

I'm struggling to find five goof words over breakfast, but nonetheless:

KETCHUP - I feel this is obvious
PARK - having a "cook out" in the park is thing
TABLE - where the food pauses between grill and stomach

After that it gets vaguer:
GLASS - one drinks at a BBQ (well, I do)
DRAFT - a bit technical, but if you're a BBQ nerd you care about the airflow over your coals, but note the possible clash with Red here ...
PASS - one might PASS the food around
WASHER - you need a volunteer for this at the end, or you use your mechanical one
HOTEL - I've certainly been to BBQ night at some of these

I'll try to get straight back on this when I get in from work in 9hrs or so.

Wow, a clue for 5 words already!?

KETCHUP is obvious.
A barbecue can find place in a PARK.

Then all of TABLE, MUG and GLASS sound plausible but I`m less confident about those.

Maybe PASS could work (as in passing the food)?

Ketchup, park, glass, table, washer, mug. I'd probably go in that order, and I know I wrote 6 words. Not too sure what it mug, your u might have a glass of beer at a BBQ, not really the place for a mug of tea.

I think that TABLE is the next strongest word, and after that we should go for two of the drink-related words (DRAFT, MUG, GLASS). I don't think that PASS or WASHER fit the clue--you wouldn't stretch a perfectly good 3 clue into 5 for those connections. And of the drink words I favor DRAFT and GLASS--DRAFT could also be the air-flow in a barbecue grill itself, and as Krill said you don't really have a MUG at a bbq.

Ah, I missed draft as in draft beer, because the spelling is wrong. Should have been draught. wink

Table glass draft works for me

And me. Just waiting to see if JR4 has an opinion on draft - he didn't mention it as an option in his post, and he's usually around in the early evening (judging from posts in other threads).

Three of us are in on TABLE as the next word.

Point to TABLE

If that's blue then JR4 can point to the others if he agrees, or make a case that we can discuss.
