As in they have two furs now? I would try to trade for that ASAP, we can trade our existing one since we're going to get a third very soon anyway.

No, they only have one for now, but given the way resources are distributed on this map, they might very well have a second ready soon.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

So we can't see the new WPC city anywhere?

Let's ask them.
Scooter, I like your message to CFC.
I have to run.

I think we should decline the catapults from them - we can probably handle taking down defenses with spies and depend on sheer unit strength and speed (ie knights). But what to say to them about it, without making it clear we think of them as the junior partner here? I also think we need to keep the tempo of far-in-the-future planning down.
I agree - cats will slow us down if anything - I think we just say we're as keen on the war as they are, so there doesn't need to be any unit gifting going on. I think they misinterpreted Scooters question, we wanted to know how many cats they'd have, not how many they'd give us... Perhaps putting them right about that diverts the question:
Quote:I think you misunderstood me - we don't expect you to pay us to take part in the war - we wanted to know how many catapults you thought you'd have for your attack?
Unless of course we want free cats?
Scooters message to CFC locks us in to peace with them for 25 turns after the German war starts. Are we sure we won't want to attack them before that? Am I being optimistic about how quick that war will be?
Completed: RB Demogame - Gillette, PBEM46, Pitboss 13, Pitboss 18, Pitboss 30, Pitboss 31, Pitboss 38, Pitboss 42, Pitboss 46, Pitboss 52 (Pindicator's game), Pitboss 57

Scooter, your message is good. Thanks!
Old Harry, I'm all for locking up CFC for as long as we can. Even if it were simply a matter of rolling over CFC (which they wouldn't just let us do), we need some time to kill the Germans, heal units, reposition units, and economically absorb the cost of what will certainly be very low population cities, as the Germans have proven they have a strong whip hand. And, not unrelated, I'd bank on CivPlayers doing their very best to cause us problems as we fight the Germans, as the bulk of our army will be elsewhere and unable to deal with them at that moment. All things considered, we need a safe front, on one side or the other, and CFC is a much more willing diplomatic partner at this point.

Another thing in favour of allying up CFC is geopolitics.
They can get a nice rice-horse city east of Starfall, and I imagine we would be willing to send them stone now and again. That makes conflict over land or resources unlikely. With CivPlayers, we are probably both interested in the ivory, and our dotmaps mesh poorly, with lots of valuable tiles that no-one wants to cede to the other.
Even more, look at neighbours. We have the Germans to our north, WPC to our northeast, CFC to our east, and CivPlayers to our west. Which of these will be the squishiest target, and the second squishiest?
CFC has the Spanish to their east, ie another one of the musketeer teams. If they get a safe border with us, they will also have a squishy target to go after.
CivPlayers, on the other hand, borders us, Apolyton, and CivFr. The map placement here really favours us.

That is excellent analysis KJN. I sure hope CFC sees it the same way.
