[SPOILERS] Don't mention the war

T43
Played a turn this morning. 3 pop whipping a settler from capital next turn that will found city south from capital. I had to settle the most defensive position i.e. 1NE from corn.
It seems I'm only one regularily reporting in this game. I had to admit that even my reports are quite minimalistic.
T45 Writing ready and I think I'll go for Archery and HBR next. Tried to get TMIT to sign a deal, but without success. I don't see much point declaring him since it seems he is going to settle towards Rome that should be good news for us in the end. Me: Quote:I just spotted with my Chariot your worker NW from me building a road. TMIT: Quote:I'm not interested in a NAP, though I can see why you want one and your reasoning for the request. It just doesn't work for me though; I don't see a concrete benefit to accepting it that extends beyond my current position.
What's our opponents' city counts? Overall it seems like we're doing pretty well, impending attack(s) notwithstanding.
Civilization IV: 21 (Bismarck of Mali), 29 (Mao Zedong of Babylon), 38 (Isabella of China), 45 (Victoria of Sumeria), PB12 (Darius of Sumeria), 56 (Hammurabi of Sumeria), PB16 (Bismarck of Mali), 78 (Augustus of Byzantium), PB56 (Willem of China)
Hearthstone: ArenaDrafts Profile No longer playing Hearthstone.
We're doing alright, although focusing on safety starts to show up. Serdoa has 3 cities and everyone else 4. Actually WK has had 4 cities quite a while already.
In Emperor level one needs to be a bit careful not to overexpand. I also don't have the option to overexpand myself since I need to be able to get HBR and Construction fast.
Poking Serdoa:
Quote:Congratulations on landing Stonehenge and Oracle. You were 1,5T ahead of me for Oracle so I couldn't even curse the turn order for losing it ;-). Response Quote:thanks. I was actually setting myself back quite a bit by getting the Oracle on that turn but after you got Hinduism I felt not save to wait even one turn longer. Seems I was right with that. Though I guess on this map, getting some failgold is actually not that bad, at least if you are at the point where you have to be aware not to overexpand and don't want to build more troops. In one of my sims I had to build Barracks, just because I could neither afford more warriors, workers or settlers. Well, changing the tech-path helped with that Warfare will be extremely expensive in this setup so I've been starting to think, if trying to get some eco techs before military ones would make sense. My small army is already costing me 5 gold/turn. |
