BEHOLD! MY VISION OF THE WORLD!
I dunno. This isn't a sure thing, but paying attention to CivStats and the tech thread I've seen cities trade hands and turnsplits happen. I'm most confident about my area (natch), OT4E's Bloodzone, and the Superdeathpile. I'm bitterly disappointed by my inability to hop in and kill some Superdeath, my spite can only be assuaged mildly by giving TBS the safest border ever while the natives yet live.

I have a pretty city, it's got some of these fancy-pants new lumbermills. I like them, quite a bit. -/1/1 isn't a huge boost, but I'll never mind an alien artifact tile yield for a grassland forest. That's pretty cool.
Sixteen turns to Optics being done without any wealth building or other such noise, so I'm going to mildly accelerate the capital GSci to 7 turns with a mild 4% pollution, then Wanker's up here only has to pollute a measly 3% itself. That's not perfect, but it's better than sitting around thumb-up-the-butt while TBS colonizes half the New World. He's still going to colonize a quarter of the New World(s)....um, you guys, I am more and more convinced counting tiles that Astronomy is a BIG FREAKING DEAL on this map.

Events. Many many interesting events have happened. After a long period of quiet, the Vetland is about to be pretty interesting:
---TBS officially joined in against Superdeath, as you can all see I'm sure. Dtay is also taking chunks, while Rusten seems to still be in the turnsplit. So TBS is going to be king of the hill but he'll border Dtay, Rusten, and Naufragar, that's not easy.
---What you guys might not be aware of is that Plako is kind of kicking Gavagai's ass right now. He's razed three cities thus far, settling into the open ground.
---I've noticed what everyone else has noticed, of course, that Lewwyn is now dedlurking Pindicator. The extent of this though...the two of them have spent more in-game time this turn than Pindicator has spent in-game in the last twenty turns. Everything changes folks, China is awake now.
So what to do? I have an army: 11 praetorians, 4 trebuchets, 2 spears, an axe and a chariot. This is plenty to kill a city or two. This isn't enough to carve out a big chunk of core Egypt. I want to help relieve Plako, and I want newly alert China to get into the dogpile spirit in not me directions. Those agitate toward going in tomorrow. I want to settle/conquer from barbs a dozen New World cities the resultant need for tons of crossbows, workers, and settlers in galleons, and I don't want to refocus the ire of Gavagai upon my own empire to the exclusion of scary Plako. This agitates towards not going in.
I've got to decide. What is best in life?

It aint bled yet. Small stacks crossing borders (with vague promises of all out war) that may/may not take city, may/may not hold city - for the skirmish god...doesnt realy play in Peoria. But make pilot for b for b good and Ill bite.

So I logged in and my mind was filled with tactical calculations. Worth taking this to open up culture? Sure!
Win. Booya.
Only after looking over the tactics did I check the events...
Crap crap crap crap.
Crap.
Dangit.
Never have I been so sad to win a 21% odds.

Sad.
If I was anyone else...I think 9 out of 10 other players on RB would have just opted to take the extra turn of stack-waddling.
Charismatic definitely encourages my worst traits. I was "heyoo 10xp chariot" and like an idiot didn't check the log. Plako didn't screw me, this was him offering peace before I declared. Rotten luck for everyone not the lurkers. Sad Git, happy now?
