Speaker and Sulla called it right, an attack with horse archers, axemen, catapults and praetorians was going to be slow going against longbows and vassalage.
Whoisit and Kathlete have both pushed their empires to make reasonable amounts of ancient attacking units. They neglected to build their infrastructure, so they both wanted to start doing that after they started the attack. Whoisit was talking about where to put markets and courthouses instead of focusing on getting every soldier he could for the fight. Kathlete revolted to OR at the start of the war.
Slaze has done exactly what you would have expected, he whipped the hell out of his cities because he was willing to do anything to avoid being walked all over. If the attacker doesn't have a tech advantage this will probably always make it hard to truely finish somebody off. If Jowy can whip enough catapults he may slow down india but he certainly won't stop them.
My guess is Jowy will go scorched earth and whip every city to size 1 and make Spulla pay to capture cities that need a lot of work. That will at least slow down their grow and slow down the advance on the Ottomans.
Not to mention;
Quote:Meanwhile Kathlete has tipped us off that Whosit would be attacking Slaze on T150 and has requested us to delay our attack against Whosit. He don't seem to mind us doing it that is good news. Maybe the alliance strucutres can be reconstructed at some point.
Now that Whosit has declared war to Slaze it might make sense to delay our attack few turns mainly for 2 reasons. It is highly probable that the city will remain badly defended since the troops of whosit are fighting against Slaze and this would look better towards Kathlete since he specifically requested us to delay our action few turns.
The co-operation between the two allies in this attack was laughable at best.
God I love this game. All the politics you could ask for plus a good mixture of weedy and brilliant civ play.
