Alright. Brace yourself. It's time for...
The Turn 150 Extravaganza!
Here's an overview of most of our territory:
There are a couple of tundra cities and one colony by Commodore, but this is the majority of our empire. We are very wealthy in plains hills. In good tiles? Not so much. Magic Science has very many angles of attack into us. Long term peace will be impossible, I'm afraid.
Now, a chance to keep me honest. Let's take a tour through the greater HOSAV.
Our glorious capital, one short, terrifying boat ride away from Commodore. Well, that's a nightmare for later. The Spiral Minaret will give us something like +33% net gold per turn. It's going to be absolutely massive and hopefully catch us up to Magic's research rate.
Our Holy City. We currently make something like 85gpt. Without the shrine, we're down to like 47gpt. Well, let's try not to lose it.
If I live long enough to research Literature, I'll put the Heroic Epic here. Pity to not put it in a coastal city, but this is the linchpin of the empire.
Necromunda is boring but solid. As fits my naming theme, the real obstacle in all my cities is health over happy. I honestly want Guilds for the Grocer more than the Knight.
Innistrad was an early city to put pressure on Ginger, and it made great use of Serfdom. (This is another way of saying this city has no riverside tiles and zero grasslands.
) I'm at peace with Miguelito/Ginger, but when the time comes to go to war again, this city can pretty much outproduce Miguelito's entire 5 city empire.
This is the colony by Commodore. Apostolic Hammers are very valuable here. My read of Commodore is that he's not going to attack this until he's ready to attack my capital, so we'll just enjoy the peace, and eke out meager coastal commerce. You can see my one mining luxury (tundra silver). You may compare with Magic's 3 gold mines.
Geidi Prime. The city that doomed Ginger/Miguelito. Still have no clue why Ginger burned it. It wasn't on his borders; it was size 1 with no good tiles (the horse was already claimed by Necromunda). Magic has already whacked my scout and looked to be my primary enemy. After the game, I'll be very curious why he attacked. Oh well. Pity. This is another Serfdom city (=bad).
I didn't show Oar in the overview screenshot because why bother? I've said it a couple times: Oar is my long term bet. I'm using Moai to turn useless tiles (coast) into useable ones (plains farms).
That's how bad my land is.
My Magic Science crumple zone. Note the singe spear garrison and the road on the forest Magic built so as to attack me as soon as he'd like. A city like this is a necessity. Otherwise, my all-important shrine city is on the front line. (Thanks to Commodore's highway-building antics, the shrine is still sort of on the front line.
) Lots of hammers, but they all go to the garrison because the entire point of this city is to slow Magic down.
Look, I'm an Imp player at heart. I plant cities. If someone ran the math, I would not be surprised to find out that this city is unprofitable.
The only city I've captured from Ginger in all our long history of animosity. Warmongering is not one of my skills.
Next turn, I'll rebuild the farm that Magic burned.
Phew. Those are all my pitiable cities. Next post will be the pitiable state of my foreign affairs.
There is no way to peace. Peace is the way.
