Nice the doomsday clock back just s bit: intercontinental culture can't spread that far. Still,

AFAIK, Culture can't spread across the ocean, but it can spread across the coast... you can see, for example, his culture from the same city spread onto this forest 1S of the iron...
A city will only generate culture on tiles that can be worked by a city on the same continent.

Oh! Really? What a relief!!! *slumps down so far in my chair that I collapse into a puddle on the floor*
T104 Demos:
The other news is that TBS settled over here on the spices and will presumably expand his borders in a few turns using a caste artist, which is too bad since I had hoped to put some of those 3rd-ring trees into the MoM. I think I can still do land it with only the tree SW of my axeman... hopefully he doesn't get pissed about it. I resent him wheat for wheat, at any rate. MoM should be done T110 if all goes according to plan. Still trying to think if there's a way to T109 it but I don't think there is... mighta been able to by 2-pop whipping the worker 2 turns ago and then doing that again. Ah well, didn't think about it. I'm also still vacillating on whether to settle on the Iron next turn or 1E of it the turn after that. On the Iron is certainly the more diplomatic position, but gives up the 6 yield tile, which would be extremely helpful as that spot doesn't have any food until a lighthouse (for three 3f lakes) unless it can steal the clam. 1E gets that tile, but threatens Oxy's control of the channel and the clam. These would be good things in a strategic sense, except that, as good as my demo numbers look, Oxy still towers over me in every single chart. CS should be somewhere between 10 and 11 turns away.
Okay... gonna back away slowly here...
Thought about it a bit (since he's at war again) and offered him 60g. If he accepts, I'm gonna cut the one forest, a fairly generous price I think; if he lets me cut a second, I'll gift him the worker too as a sign of good faith.
plako is a very quiet guy... we often both log in right when the turn starts, and he almost never returns my or parkin's friendly "hello"s or "howdy!"s or "good evening"s...
Oxy, Me, Tbs, Plako, and Xenu are 4th-5th-6th-7th-8th place on the scoreboard and we're all adjacent to each other, heh
