So I started moving the scout to explore the west. Any thoughts on where I should send him next? Those Peaks and the little bit of water to the SW makes for a couple different options.
Could send him 2W onto that hill, which he could then pass through the Peaks. Or I could send him 1W1NW to get the better visibility across the water to the area around the Stone.
Could also send him south a bit, to make sure we uncover everything around our Gold city before he goes off exploring elsewhere. Though our Spear (which will come out in 2 turns) could always take care of that small bit of exploration in the forest there.

So Grimace finally knows where we are...but at least he ran across us at the northern pass. But this does mean he now knows exactly where we are (if he didn't already):

So I have a new highlighted plan on the googledoc. I kinda changed all possible plans we had started with, because I ended up whipping out that WB in Hungry last turn. I was a bit distracted and for some reason thought that was part of the original plans, but did a few quick checks to make me think whipping it then might be better.
In either case, the new SIM so far has a good number of things (including techs) coming faster than they did in other SIMs. The end result is that we have all 4 cities by T55, with all of them hooked up. I timed worker movements such that when the last settler is made, there was a road in the process of being completed all the way to the PH by the Cow/Corn. Such that the city was founded the turn after the settler was made. And then had 3 workers down there getting the Cow and Corn improved super quick.
My sim has us a little light on military, but that's only because in my sim I build a Barracks in C2 (to get the borders to pop for the Sheep sooner). If it looks like we might need more military faster, then that one can make it's Axe sooner, delaying the Barracks.

That is one really weird land layout to my west. Cows smack dab in the middle of 4 Peaks.....blah
Glad I see what I believe is fresh water over there. If need be that'll allow for a farm to help C3 grow depending on whether there is anything else to help it from in that fog.
I do have say though....I'm stoked about having a veritable Sherwood Forest to my south. I'll be able to chop crap out like crazy.
Also....I really like the fact that my first 4 cities are all planned to be on Plains Hills. That'll be a nice boost for production in these early stages (plus the protection).

For ease of seeing it and for any lurkers who care to look. Below is a screenshot of the SIM micro plan I just did. Still might need to refine it some, but this is a rough idea.
Gonna do another one later with building more military quicker (ie. delaying the Barracks). I'm pretty much decided against the axe rush. It'll just hurt my infrastructure and expansion plans too much. Feel free to make any comments.
The biggest thing that I might also want to try to work on is getting C1 to grow at some point. I have a couple tiles that have been improved that end up not being worked much (such as that first mine we made). But that mine was mostly a filler activity and for the kickstart at the beginning to help get out that first settler quicker. It also got used for a couple turns in the middle of this micro.

Lions and Bears, Oh My!
The scout is really going to have to be careful now. He passed by the Bear moving through the peaks, and sees a lion now. So gotta maneuver around two animals while exploring. He might not be long for this world.
As you can see on the other side of the peaks....we have a nice big vineyard there. C3 is going to need to farm those 3 grasslands south of it extending from that lake as it's growing tiles, most likely.
This is the turn need to decide whether to have Hungry start the Warrior or the Barracks. I tentatively have him starting the warrior, since I'm beginning to think that's the better thing to do (even though I'd really like to get those borders expanded to the Sheep). Gonna do a handful of sims trying out multiple things with the two options. One that I did last night doing the warrior (column A in the doc) already looks a bit better than the one I have posted in this thread. But I think that was also because I decided to have C3 begin with a Worker, rather than trying to grow on a Barracks...and that really help with research and other such things, and allowing Sleepy to grow to size 4 earlier. So going to also redo the C2-Barracks sim with C3 doing the Worker, and see what the outcome of that path is.
Grimace's scout is currently at the NE corner of Hungry, which means he'll be able to move west over the next two turns along it's northern border to get city visibility on the city in 2 turns. Really wonder where that Bear went. Would love to have seen it eat his scout.

Soooo....lots of news this turn.
Donovan/Adrien got Stonehenge this turn. So sadly that means Grimace won't get it for me to steal from him. LOL Also, as you can see Grimace got BW last turn and revolted to Slavery.
Also will be meeting Borsche next turn. I even have the option of moving 1SW and then back away again such that he won't know where I met him. I'll have to think about that one.
Also....Sheep south of C3 spot. Almost makes me want to think about settling off the coast 1S of my marked spot. But I'm not sure I like that idea. Yes, it'll have more food that way, but just not sure I want to do that. I can let some other city have the Sheep.

Just a quick update. Scout met Borsche last turn, and continuing to explore the southern fog. I'll clear all that fog and then head back NW.
The Spear went down and killed that Bear you see in the above screenshot, and now will head back up to the C3 spot. After the city is settled, I might try to send it over to find and kill that Bear the scout saw in the west. Just to get it out of the way for when the scout returns back that way.
Next turn we get our Settler, for C3 to be settled 2 turns after that. The worker will be in position to start the gold mine on the turn the city is founded.
In C2 I decided to do the Barracks, which I'm going to be 2-pop whipping when the city reaches size 4 on T46.

Hi HAK,
Sorry for the loooonnng absence.
The C3 spot. My initial reaction was to move it 1S or 1SW or 2S1W. After thinking some more I also didn't think that it would be better.
I see our locations being C3 existing site. The future may allow:
+ 3S 1W of C3
+5W C3 and with these locations we'll be in good shape defensively while holding most of the food in the area.
The sheep should be safe for another city like you said due to the mountains in the area.
