RBP2 Lurker Discussion Thread - No Players!

And on top of that, it's not like they can expect to get any spoilers out of the lurkers, considering how infrequently Jowy updates his thread. The only person that has any more info than Spulla about where they should attack first is Jowy, as none of the lurkers know where is army is or what it looks like anyway.

I just think they want lurker comments. They want an outside perspective. One way to do it is to ask vague/leading questions so the lurkers will talk about them. They have no intention of getting spoilers.

I think one way Spulla listen to lurkers is when they hid their GNP by ditching the binary research tactic. They where to disrespectful and angry at their opponents to listen to them. But they did listen to the lurkers...

Spulla is a 'person'? lol (I likely made this error to...)

No, but Jowy is.

I disagree, I don't think they want lurker comments for the advantage, but just to keep the thread interesting. They know they are a huge draw to the forums, and at least to some extent they play that up a bit.

Welll it doesn't matter now, because nobody even suggested the move they had planned all along. So the question was essentially just a build up to the big reveal of the Argos attack.

I agree with Darkmantle that that's the most likely reason for Sullla asking for advise. If you read his write-ups he likes to add in cliff-hangers at the end of each part. His asking for lurker input was in a way like the cliff-hanger. It wasn't "what should I do?" but more like "what do you think we're going to do?"

Not entirely true in the early game he had 1or 2 mistakes in his excel-sheet which a Lurker pointed out to him. Mind you nothing game-breaking but still.

To add when Jowy built the GW it was very tempting to ask himn if he has gone insane building a wonder instead of Units in a bordercity while at war.
Nobody reminded Whosit that he has to declare first before he lands his troops else they get teleported etc etc. (And Whosit does a lot of detailed reporting too).

Reading the threads I wonder if HRE has passed along the demands/offer from Korea to Rome.

Rome would be in a far better position had the HRE even done the tiniest bit of military assistance. The MDP was not worth the paper it was signed on for sure.

Speaking of Whosit, doesn't promoting a unit reset the fortification bonus? Should we tell him?
I have to run.

I don't think so - and its replacements playing his next few turns so I wouldn't bother

Hm. Somehow I see Sullla not reacting terribly well when he sees this gifting from Jowy to Athlete.

Fight it out to the bitter end. Especially when that end isn't far away. This isn't a SP game against the AI, where once it's clear you've lost, you resign and start over. Giving up changes the game.
