[PB70] Lurking under the tables

Of the four people who have reported in some way, everyone seems to have ended exploring north, and the two that are presenting dotmaps are tunnel visioning in that direction. I think that the most powerful immediate cities lies in the south, while the northern river has more long term potential.

I think Mjmd and Charriu is a good bet to win, but if Ginger is checked in he's in contention as well.

My money would be on Ginger except there is a chance he is not fully checked in.

He just missed a turn(?). Pretty good chance he isn't checked in.

Yeah, for the second time in the first few turns. There's also been a few unasked for extentions.

I actually rate Superdeath's chances here, he's motivated and doesn't have 10 other pitbosses running (for once), so he can actually focus on the task at hand.

The second city is settled this turn and started a warrior. As you can see I also discovered some more land with it. Main purpose of this city is to be a hammer city as I've mentioned before. Not necessarily the best at it. But good enough after it helped the cap grow cottages.

I can't wrap my head around how he looks at that BFC and goes "yup hammer city".

If you look at my overview shot and compare it with Mjmd's you will notice that both the stone and gems island are perfect mirrors in their terrain as well as their position in correlation to the capitol. While exploring towards Bing I noticed the tip of an island/tile across the sea. If you project that tile towards my area then you could settle on this tile and get the fish in second ring. Now I could be totally wrong here, but I strongly believe in the mirroring of the map.  bow

If not well then I have to settle on the banana. Could be worse.

Charriu's trust in the mirroring is correct, but what he doesn't know is that island is contested from across the water. Whomever first starts scoutig with a boat will have quite the leg up.

Five points to Superdeath!

How do you win?

Galleons.

Ok but before that

I think it’s going to be super important to make a friend that shares a neighbor with us. So, Charriu and/or Mjmd. In a perfect world, the first CKN-aided target would be split with an ally to make it a decisive and quick war. Striking first and getting bogged down is death when you have an opportunistic neighbor at your back door while your primary army is 20 tiles away.

The rest of it can sort of fall into place backwards out of that. For example, if we can befriend Charriu, maybe that isolates Bing as a target, which means we need a Superdeath mitigation plan, so then maybe we can come to some sort of deal that involves a demilitarized border or something. This is just an example. For now, I mostly want us to meet Superdeath and Mjmd in game and get a feel for how they see things too. I don't see any reason to commit to things now. But I really think in this map setup, we want a war ally of some sort before committing to anything.

Scooter really hasn't lost form, that's a spot on analysis.

Don't galleons only win the game for you when you are already ahead? Conquering with them is hard to impossible. And you can't terrorize 3/4 players simultaneously.

Well...if a player is up Astro, they are ahead, which is kind of scooters point.

Galleons force a pause to most wars that they can reach as a player needs ro protect coastal cities. On this map it is everyone.

Whoever has China though, yeah its a win condition.
