I guess I could look at that map more. I'll tinker a bit with Refsteel's script first.
And I can't tell if Krill is being facetious yet that somehow makes it more tempting to use that map...

I like the shape of the map you posted as well. I think a lot of (pretty bad) space in the middle is fine, it gives them something different and unique to remember about this map. My favourite games are the ones with a weird map quirk (e.g. PB58!!).

I hope it helps! I uploaded another version to the linked thread at civfanatics, adding two options to the setup screen: One extends the grassland by various amounts (for the pangaea map this primarily means the arid interior is more interior, extending the eastern and western fertile coastal regions) and the second lets you choose between the default Tectonics latitude setup and the "no axial tilt" version that I posted initially. Hopefully this will help with this and/or future games!

How is the map coming? Decided that laziness is a virtue and you're going with that totally random map yet?

Funny thing, I guess I didn't save that map.
Been rolling a few more to find something similar but honestly it's been a busy week and I've just been wiped. I'll try to put some time into it tomorrow - or tonight if my date goes poorly.

Embracing laziness, I decided to bring my work here so you can all help me decide.
Here are my top 2 maps of all that I've rolled (tectonics, large, pangaea, arid):

And here are 2 more that I think might work if I move a starting location:
3 - move white up to the center and scoot purple a little to the right.
4 - Actually, I'm not so sure I need to move anyone here... Orange and teal are a little too close together on the east coast but otherwise this is nice too.
Leaning 1 right now just because of the laziness of moving someone, but really I could be talked into any of these. Tell me your favorites.

2, but I'd move atleast one of the central locations eastwards, probably the blue to the lake.

I'd suggest moving light yellow and orange to fit in bore on the coast asks moot have a piggy in the middle. But apparently you all don't see much of a issue with that? Is the expectation that the middle people be isolated by desert?
Also maybe add a few desert FP rivers in the east?
I also like 4 and 3, with similar considerations.
