I'm amenable to either birds or rocks-although we might want to try meklar espionage sometime, they're almost as good at it as the darlocks, and their production centric view makes for interesting espionage decisions.
As an aside a Small only minus col ships alkari is entirely doable--your colony ships do tend to carry bombs if you get the shaft on miniturizable pieces, however. On the upside, late game glassfests go fairly quickly with a reg-colony base bomber to imediately resettle the planets you glass....I always have this image of the cowboy from "Dr Strangelove" when using that colonization method.....

OK, just checking in to say that, in the absence of any real preference shown by the majority (looks like 1-silicoid, 1-alkiri, 3-don't care), it looks like we'll be playing the Silicoids on a large. I have allready generated the start and played far enough to know that their is an acceptable planet in range. I generated the turn order by rolling my computerized 5 sided die, and it came up with:
Maniac
Therlun
Zed-F
dathon
AlanSHB
Hmm, had I known I was first, I'd have played it out when I tested.....
Since I'm up first, and I don't have time to play right now and may not until sometime tomorrow, I'll create the thread over at CFC late tonite or tomorrow and link it up here for everyone then.
After this game completes, I'll probably run the Alkiri idea on a medium or small if there is enough interest in it. I'm looking forward to playing with you all.

Alright by me. Sorry I didn't get back to checking on this by the time the vote window closed, but I'm ok with Silicoid/large anyway. Alkari/small is fun.

The next SG looks like it is going to be as Bulrathi, on a hard, large map, such that:
- We never research missles or bombs unless we have no other options.
- We never use missles or bombs on ships.
We will be starting after American Thanksgiving, so probably sometime soon. Please register your interest now!

I'm in. One thing though: are we counting on stealing missile tech for bases, or are we planning on going baseless I think no bases on top of the other restrictions is a little much, not that I wouldn't play it  My suggestion would be to just use Zed's second restriction, no missiles or bombs on ships.

I like the flavor of not researching missiles/bombs, and not putting them on ships. Lets plan on stealing via pointy sticks, or spies, missiles to man our bases with--Should be doable as the bears.

There may be times when a missile is the only option offered in a tier.

Maniac, are you still up for this one? I'd think we'd want at least 4 players.
Who gets the honors of starting us off?

Ah, I've been besieged by IRL stuff the last few days. The [censored] airline sent my labtop to Cleveland instead of Chicago, then last wednesday my step sister passed away. I'm back now. Sorry for the delay.
How about we start tomorrow night? That's if everyone is still interested.
