Horist Shadow Game Imp24

If I recall correctly, most of my planets were over 100 pop and I was stuck on class 5 planetary sheilds with class 9-11 deflectors most of the game. Eventually I stole XX, but I don't recall upgrading, since they never attacked.

I'm unsure about the problem.

If you had had more than about 120 MBs, possibly even 110 MBs for smaller normal planets or bigger poor planets, you could have crossed an AI borderline of "it is not worth attacking such a small planet with such a huge defense" check. This one actually neglects any other feature of your defense.

But if you had 90-100 Mbs, as you said above, there must be some bigger problem. Something I'm not about to find I'm afraid.

There's another check that enables another type of AI attack (I call the first one 'aggressive' and this one 'rational'). The defense is then compared to the attacking task force. I really wonder how you skipped through this one against SoDs. Maybe because there's a cap for the bigger stacks (naturally, otherwise the numbers would go through the ceiling), while your MBs are nowhere near as numerous, so they get no discount. Still, it's quite interesting you've escaped the equations, especially since your other features, most notably the planetary shield, was poor.

- Interesting case, Horist, thanks for the report.

EDIT: on a second look, the AI seems to overlook the fact you possibly don't have high-tech missiles and uses the general weapon_level instead. Well, that may explain one or two things, no?

I really don't know. Ive played about 6 games since, all of which the AI sent forces against my bases they couldn't hope to destroy, but they still tried. In this game, they didn't even attack when I only had 8 bases on a planet!
