This terrain makes it really awkward to find the best city locations. More interesting too, probably.
Checked out an old version of the map script used. Old because CFC is down. Anyway, my guess is that the map is one big snaky continent.

Capital popped borders. Revealed cows south, which I would have claimed if I had settled on the coast - which in fact turned out to be a lake.
Now I have an alternate spot to settle the next city: Grab the cows and share the rice with the capital.
Met a familiar face in the north. Neighbors twice in a row! BRB, aborting PBEM54 rush plans

No land connection to the north. Could be an islands map then, but other directions from capital seem way too open for that.

Oh boy, I'm neighbors with Catwalk. This should be fun!

England starts with Fishing, so he's gotta be going workboat first. But this is Catwalk. He's got my capital scouted, could be a short game for me.
Not gonna fear a warrior rush though, it's all or nothin
Settling near the pigs river seems the way to go for long term potential. But maybe it's better to settle close first and share tiles, hmm.

Catwalk asked for peace and I granted him it. His scout was standing on the corn. He must have wanted to be bumped northwest or west, but was instead dumped back southwest.
Found wet rice near the pigs. I'm thinking it's better to settle closer first, and go for that spot once I've got more workers who can road up and then improve the resources once the city is planted.

We have a good group here, this was one of the few games that kept chugging along throughout the holidays ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif)
Yes, my last update is from 10 turns ago. Nothing happens early game. Fuck me, right?
Found Catwalk's capital. I'm going to settle south to grab the copper. 3 plains hills (one with copper) + cows + shared wet rice. Who needs a whip when you've got hammers

Scout is still alive and on the way back. Gonna check out the other directions so I know where to expand.
I think I need that information more than what lies past Catwalk.

We have a naming theme! I'm not gonna reveal it, you gotta figure it out! I'm sure some have already ![smile smile](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smile2.gif)
PS. I don't suggest googling the city names because of spoilers!
