Hoping there is some food for a decent 3rd city. So far just the pigs/clam city is looking at all tempting. I also almost forgot that whales require optics in base BTS.. Really thinking about throwing caution to the wind and go looking for trouble this pb. Lurkers? You want some blood?
Mechanics question: How does the strike mechanic actually work. Does it delete units till you arent in the red? 1 per turn? I ask, because i typically have won by the time i go into "strike" and havent really noticed how many/how the units are deleted.

Check CivFanatics for sure, but I think there is a “strike counter” that starts at 0 and increases by one each turn you are in strike (never decreasing or resetting). Each turn in strike you lose the number of units equal to the strike counter. First turn of strike 0 units are deleted, 2nd turn 1, 3rd turn 2, etc. etc. even if you bring income back positive I think you will lost the next increment up if you go back into strike rather than decreasing or resetting.

Well, to put it simply..
I was under the impression that war couldnt even be declared till t25. Yet, here is Chumchu declaring on t24, and entering my lands. If i had known that this wasnt an enforced/thing i would have opened differently/had my warriors in better position. This has to be one of those "lets see if i can get a quick kill/coinflip on the capital!" kind of things, as he could have moved to the corner and got a view as most of our starts are always on hills..
Ive continued my "normal" movement that i had planned, because frankly if i lose to a less than 50% coinflip.. im going to be taking a break from all the pb's.

A normal post to keep me sane:
Plan A- If this is reversed/he doesnt continue into my capital... I build my settler send him to clams/pig and try and have a normal game. Since ive been found, i cant really WC rush him unless i somehow get there before copper is hooked.
Plan B- This isnt reversed/he continues into my capital and doesnt kill me/he continues into my capital and parks on tiles or is otherwise a major pita.... WC spam till we both lose.

That would be the hardest challenge for you so far

I've asked the lurker thread for additional input before posting in the tech thread but this seems pretty straightforward to me.

BGN, i think you deserve some coffee for your hardwork today.
In other news, got a PM from Chum basically stating apologies, and "ill try and forget what i saw" ect ect, i login and ...... lol, he didn't even move his warrior to the 1 spot that would allow him to now "see" my capital. Not that im complaining about that, i just find it a bit funny.
In other, OTHER news.. im going to be sending at least 1 warrior, if not 2 to find Chum's bronze and sit on it once i finish researching BW. Horses will be online about the same time that bw finishes, so being able to whip out a WC or 10 and pay chum a visit seems quite fun.. Especially because my back-line 2nd city is a food/production/whip powerhouse. I can fill in the rest of the sub-par land once ive captured Chum's cities. Using his capture gold to fund research towards writing-alpha-currency, then a mass WC/HA stack into my next neighbor sounds like even more fun :D If i can cut off a corner of the world, and capture it... i should be able to stabilize the economy even on emp before Strike becomes too troublesome. Its worked for me in the past, maybe it will work here?

Alrighty, operation: Regain Thy Honor! IS happening now.
Settler completes EoT- runs to settle my 2nd city.
Current worker has finished the road on the horses, and will finish completing the road to the capital roughly the same time that BW comes in.
Worker will be started/coming to a finish once BW is in and i chop it out.
1 worker will chop WC's in capital. 1 worker will either chop WC's in 2nd city, OR start on the pigs. Depends on where copper pops near Chumchu.
I have enough forests for a good 4-6 easy WC's. If copper is spotted, i will attempt to stand on it/burn it with my two warriors im sending south, one is already there, the other has a promo waiting and is timed to be there around the same time the 10t peace is over.
Unless copper is in capital, and Chum has it basically already mined. i think he can get a max 1-2 spears TOTAL out. He can pump archers if he goes for archery soon, but he may be going after other techs before archery
If i can delay his copper, he stands no chance. Otherwise ill just burn whatever i can, and consolidate. Here's my really bad Paint3D sketch of attack plans-
I expect him to found near the rice next turn. If he revolts to slavery this turn, ill know he is settling for copper. ( i assume he would, knowing he "likely" pissed me off? )
Even with emp maintanence, i think i can use the broken financial trait to keep my afloat. That gold by him will make a nice city sharing one of those deer's.

I honestly dont think there is enough land easily available to me, to justify not using my amazing UU while it could still be AMAZING. Ive got a grand total of 5 cities that i could plant so far, with 2 of them looking real shitty. Ill have to scout more to the west sometime soon, but its looking real rocky and a major pita. Im just going to bank on facing only 1-2 spears tops. If it fails, i think im still likely to have an ok finish in this game. Fin + Cha is really good.
